Terrible Boss Tells Woman to "Get Over" Her Miscarriage and Stop Slacking Off, Hero Supervisor Intervenes and Gets Boss Canned

When this boss was entirely unsympathetic towards her team member who had lost a late-term pregnancy, she really showed her true colors. When the miscarriage occurred her supervisor immediately approved her leave and told her to turn off her phone and take some time off. When the boss found out she was less than sympathetic, telling the supervisor that he was enabling the team member to "slack off."

This thread was posted to the r/antiwork subreddit by the supervisor, Reddit user u/FancyBasil3810 (OP), following their confrontation with the boss. The posted thread was titled "Boomer Co-Supervisor wants team member to "get over" a pregnancy loss, finally got hers" and has earned ten-thousand upvotes so far.

"Not really expecting anything" the supervisor took their concerns to HR, in order to protect the team member.

Commenters have been more than supportive and are largely calling out all types of managers who are cold and unfeeling towards their staff's human needs.

"Never understood why treating ppl like humans isn't how everyone conducts business." commented one user, Whythestevenot.

"No kidding," replied FancyBasil3810, the OP. "For full-time, you spend 40 hours a week with your coworkers, why would you not want to be nice to people, and expect the same back?"

The world would be so much better if we just approached the people we dealt with daily with a little more understanding and compassion.

50 Terrible Cooking Fails From People Who Shouldn't Be Allowed in the Kitchen

Cooking is a completely underrated skill and a skill that a surprising amount of people know very little about. More surprising still is that an even greater amount of people know less about their way around the kitchen than they think they do.

But, that's what happens when you grow up in the rural continental United States, where every meal consists of some combination of processed food, cheese, wheat, sugar, and corn starch. Few of us learn advanced skills or techniques that are required for serious baking and cooking outside of grating cheese and boiling pasta.

In no way am I claiming to be the next Gordon Ramsay; I probably fall into the category of overestimating my knowledge. But I can say this: I have enjoyed expanding my knowledge of cuisine and culinary delights over the last few years. It's been one thing that has kept me sane through the lockdown extravaganza, and I look forward to pursuing this further.

Making mistakes is a part of life. You will never, and should never, get something right the first time. It's all part of the learning process. However, there are those of us who should never be allowed to step foot near a kitchen. There are just too many sharp things, burny things, and other hazards where the chronically uncoordinated among us could find trouble.

These are some of those people.

Americans Share Culture Shocks They Experienced When Visiting Europe

It's easy to forget that a "standard way of living" is completely up for debate, and that it's at least a little different everywhere you go. Especially since American tourists are notorious for doing obnoxious things, it can be easy for us to get caught up in our own little worlds and have a hard time accepting the great big one that we're actually a part of.

Being in a different place is a terrific reminder that, not only is the world a big place, but it's also an old place. It's wacky to consider that you could find yourself walking on a road that was paved by Romans, or that you might end up eating at a restaurant that's been open for 600 years. And then there are the small things, like how nobody drinks root beer over there. Now what's this we're hearing about all this vacation the get?

But if you're an American who wants to feel some national pride, here are some particular things America has that Europe doesn't.

Various Things That Didn't Age So Well

We shudder every time we hear one of those stories about someone buying a taco with "worthless bitcoin" in 2011, but at the same time, there's nothing we can really do about moments like those. None of us has a crystal ball, and we shouldn't kick ourselves for making a reasonable prediction that simply doesn't turn out to be true. But when someone else does, and it's in writing? Sweet lord, that's fair game.

Again, no one knows the future, except for everyone who engages in insider trading. But if you're not doing that, then you're just as dumb and blind as the rest of, telling all of your friends that Segway travel is going to be the next big thing. Or that you should totally buy those fat free chips that gave everyone diarrhea. Or your car is covered in Nader bumper stickers.

Time is hard on all of us.

New Mom Expects Daughter, Delusional In-Laws Want Boy To Name After Grandpa, Throw Grandpa-Themed Baby Shower

Everyone grieves differently. But when you find yourself forcing your wife (who is expecting a girl) to attend a boy-themed baby shower to honor the name of grandpa, maybe it's time to look in the mirror and ask yourself if you've made the right choices. Because this whole situation looks a lot like this family is desperately and ineffectually trying to reincarnate their grandpa.

It would be one messed-up thing if the family was upset that the baby is expected to be a girl. That on its own would be enough to have some hard feelings. But they went to extra step to ignore reality and "hold onto hope" that this kid is gonna be Grandpa Part II. The internet saw this and astutely pointed out that maybe there is still time to not have to be part of this family dynamic.

For some wild parenting, here's the entitled parent who won't change her own kid's diaper and demanded a daycare worker do it off the clock, and for some absolutely bananas family drama here's the mom who stole her kids' birthdays for years.

Guy Freaks Out at Disabled Person After He Mistakes Their Disability Lanyard For a Work Uniform, Refuses to Apologize

A disabled person found themselves targeted by an angry customer after the customer thought that their "disability lanyard" was a part of their work uniform. When confronted with the fact that he was wrong, he doubled down on the error and became increasingly agitated and angry at them and everyone else who tried to tell him otherwise.

This bizarre display of behavior was displayed in a story that was posted to r/IDontWorkHereLady. A subreddit where people share stories such as this where they have been mistaken for a worker of an establishment. The victims of these incidents are often targeted by Karens or their male counterparts (Kens? Kevins?)

Some say that this guy is still asking random people for his ticket to this very day.

For more stories like this, check out this story that ran recently where a customer demanded to talk to a retail worker's manager. Except they weren't a retail worker and didn't even work there at all.

Captain and Owner of Fishing Vessel Posts TikToks of Crazy Monster Tunas She and Her All-Female Crew Catches

Sometimes it's a solo trip with only the captain catching a 600+ pound tuna…

Cheating Ex-Wife Gets Sued Silly When She Forges HOA Application in Husband's Name

This vengeful ex-husband had had enough of his spurned ex-wife when she reared her head one last time in a final act of retribution.

The story was initially posted by u/SpurredOneLastTime (OP) to the r/entitledpeople subreddit and then crossposted by a fascinated reader to r/f***HOA. The OP tells the tale of his ex-wife's final act of retribution that saw him embroiled in legal troubles and tangled with a Home Owner's Association.

His wife had been cheating on him for some time, all revealed through "trickle truths" and led to a highly messy divorce with complicated legal proceedings and lawsuits. The final straw came when his ex signed him up to a Home Owner's Association that he had no interest in being a part of.

Of all the things you could possibly do, this has got to be the most sinister. Being grandfathered into an HOA exemption is a beautiful thing indeed. Taking that away from someone is worse than taking the dog or custody of the children.

Former Escort Humiliates Father-In-Law When He Makes Inappropriate Joke About Her Past

Commenters have vigorously defended a woman who humiliated her father-in-law at a family engagement. The incident occurred after the woman found out she was pregnant, her brother-in-law had revealed her history as an escort to his family, and her father-in-law took the chance to lash out at the woman with cruel humor.

The thread was posted to r/AmItheA**hole by the woman in question, who goes by the Reddit username u/Exciting_Stick_2674 (OP). She posted the topic titled 'AITA for embarrassing my FIL after I repeatedly asked him to explain his joke to me?' following the incident occurred.

OP has been engaged to her fiancé for over a year and has known she was pregnant for five months. She notes that her brother-in-law exposed her past to the family two years ago, which caused the couple and family troubles for some time. She notes that the couple "thought it was behind us." before her father-in-law's remark.

What's your take? Was she in the wrong here?

NFT Memes And Jokes To Send To That Friend Who Bought Into It

The hype train of crypto is a seductive and dangerous concept. The promise of easy lucrative investments and "free money" have been a thing since forever, but instead of being called "blockchain-protected revenue streams" or "Non-fungible Tokens" they were often referred to as scams. Would you like to see my certificate of sale for the Brooklyn Bridge?

It's true, we don't fully understand the underlying technology that gives NFTs their "value" but neither do 99% of the people trying to make money off of them. Most of us have simply been fooled before and it's going to take a lot more than a few tweets about dubious investment opportunities to get people to lay down their hard-earned cash on an image that can literally be copy/pasted in a matter of seconds.

For a more in-depth analysis on the off-the-rails-with-multiple-casualties hype train that is NFTs, check out this article Why NFTs Are the Next Big Thing (If You're A Complete Moron). Anyway, here are some bits and bobs to help mock those who drank the NFT kool-aid.

Woman Milks Boyfriend For Tuition, Dumps Him After Graduation, Gets Called Out During Speech

It's lookin' like someone got tricked.

Be proud of your own accomplishments. But if you fooled someone into funding those accomplishments, and tolerated them for just long enough to take what you needed from them, which is what this sorta looks like, then maybe you don't get to be perfectly proud of yourself for your wonderful achievements.

And yeah, relationships are an at-will environment. It's impossible to know exactly what someone is thinking, and it's well within your rights to break up with someone whenever you so please. But when it looks this damning, it's pretty easy to draw conclusions about your qualities as a person.

The immediate family wasn't so pleased that OP stated the obvious, and honestly OP may very well be on thin ice. If he's hanging around the type of people who don't like having their less-than-spectacular behaviors pointed out, it might be better to think about parting ways a group who will encourage this sort of thing. If he is on the way out, at least he didn't foot the bill for someone's education.

People Share How They Found Out Their Ex Was Cheating

It's important to believe your significant other, but it's also important to not be stupid. If your girlfriend keeps getting "you up" texts from a phone number called "McDonald's," it's pretty safe to assume that she's having midnight liaisons with a different kind of clown, and it's in your best interest to confront her about it. Don't be a mark. Stand up for yourself.

Remember that people will show you exactly what they are like. If someone goes out of their way to lie about seeing a person on the side, they've done an excellent job of eliminating any amount of trust you should have in them if they plan on "apologizing," whatever that means to them.

Here are some ways that people found out their partner was knocking boots with someone else. At times it took some real detective work, and other times it just took having open eyes. Relationships can be weird, so keep that head on a swivel, but also keep it screwed on.

For some more tales from relationships, here are people sharing the things they hate the most about their significant other.

The Most Wildly Insane and Entitled Parents of the Week (March 29, 2022)

Presenting: This week's list of the week's most insane and most entitled parents. Freshly curated from the bowels of the internet.

Remember that kid who bullied you in middle school on the bus? Remember the kid who thought it was funny to give his teammates concussions during practice on your High School football team? Remember that kid who sat in the back of the class and made masturbation jokes in the 5th grade?

I've got some terrible news for you… They're all parents now. And they're well on their way to introducing another generation of little hell-spawn terrors into the world.

Someone, somewhere, who grew up with Will Smith or Jada Pinkett Smith is reminded of this horrible reality every time they see the couple and their insane children making headlines. This is also probably the reality for anyone who knew someone who was terrible before they were famous.

Shipwright Shares Two Stories of Nautical-Themed Shipyard Malicious Compliance, Earns $900/hr for 15 Years

This week a shipwright (what the poster describes as being a "Nautical Carpenter") took to the Malicious Compliance subreddit, not once but twice, to tell their nautical tales of malicious compliance, including how they managed to earn $900/hr for 15 years.

The topics were posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit over the last few days by the user u/Anony19087, with the success of the initial post titled "$6 Per Week" prompting them to post the second topic titled "$15 per minute." We love the related titles and themes between the two stories, with the first telling how u/Anony19087 complied with the shipyard's demands when they were too cheap to pay the "Own Tool" fee and the second sharing how they landed themselves in a situation of long-term compliance that saw them earning up to $900/hr.

Hey, what's the saying? Whatever floats your boat?

Jaden Smith Roasted, When He Tweets "That's How We Do It" in Response to Father Will Smith's Violent Outburst

As the Will Smith saga continues to unfold, everyone is determined to throw their hat into the ring, including Will Smith's son Jaden. Now, Jaden has a history of saying and doing some insane stuff that has repeatedly put him on the sharp end of the Internet's roasting stick. We were all playing the "wtf did Jaden do this week" game for a while there, and Twitter had him constantly on blast.

In 2017 his "Batman" single and music video made desperate attempts to follow in his sister Willow's footsteps. People, at best, referred to the song as a "guilty pleasure." Nonetheless, his parent's money, antics, and stupid white Batman suit were enough to buoy him up to nearly 16M views on that terrible track.

I'll admit that I've done everything I can to push the Pinkett Smiths out of my mind in recent memory. The family's insane dynamic, beliefs, and ethics make me repeatedly wonder why they're still allowed to be in the spotlight. Worst of all, now the Fresh Prince of Stale Acting has an Oscar under his belt when everyone else in the category deserved it over him. Ok, I haven't seen Bardem in Being the Ricardos, but the performances from Denzel Washington in Macbeth, Cumberbatch in Power of the Dog, and Andrew Garfield in tick, tick…BOOM! were all master classes in acting. I'd argue that they were some of the strongest candidates in the category in recent memory. Meanwhile, Will Smith is always Will Smith dressed in different clothing.

The guy punches your presenter in the face, you let him go back to his seat, and then gift him one of the most prestigious awards in acting… When there were so many other deserving actors in the category. Just give it to whoever was your runner-up.

Could the Oscars be any more off the mark?

I don't think we need to go more into the incident since everyone will know the story by now. So we'll leave that there. But, subsequently and predictably, the Pinkett Smiths continue to be the Pinkett Smiths and ol' mate Jaden has to chime in with his two cents regarding daddy's actions.

And, of course, the comment is precisely the one you would expect from someone who grew up in a fantasy land and has a raging pseudo-messiah complex.

The internet has reacted in exactly the manner you would expect, so read on for their comments below.

The Most Absurdly Out Of Touch Things People Have Heard

Can you blame someone for being wildly out of touch?

Of course you can, are you kidding? There are grown adults who haven't looked at the housing market or the price of college in literally decades, and they're out here trying to "give advice" to the people around them. It's weirdly common to have an absurdly rich person have to ask you why you would "choose" to ride the bus, and for some stupid reason it's still in your best interest to explain your situation politely rather than just saying "cars are expensive and my dad didn't buy me one like yours did, you unproductive, festering scab on the ass of the economy."

It's not hard to cultivate an atom of empathy for the people around you, but for some reason there are people who live their lives trying to resist it like it's a ball gag being pulled around their mouth. And that's how you find yourself at a party, very kindly trying to explain to a dead-eyed corporate lawyer's kid at a party that no, 20 bucks is still 20 bucks and you're gonna have to pay me back for the pizzas I bought, Kevin.

For some more winners, here are some features that quietly scream "I've got tons of money" as well as some of the dumbest things people have heard out of someone else's mouth.

Restaurant Sign Is Full Of Enduring Jokes And Insight

If we could get all our advice from a Tex-Mex restaurant in Austin, we would. And to a great degree, we do. Nothing soothes a broken heart like the warm embrace of hot queso. It's like a hug from the inside, and pretty soon all of our organs will be encased in a thin layer of love that will inevitably shock our doctors.

But restaurants only provide us with a gooey and delicious replacement for feelings, they also sometimes have a strong and persistent culture of sign jokes, to feed out hungry minds as well. El Arroyo is nonstop with the quips, and that's a beautiful thing. The big sign is a true bastion of self-expression. The foot-tall mismatched letters like a paintbrush in the hands of so many a Da Vinci. The many puns and jokes, each their own Mona Lisa.

Here are some more sign jokes for people who prefer their puns large and in public.

HOA Doesn't Tip On Massive Pizza Order, Gets Whole Neighborhood Blacklisted

To some, the HOA is a mark of quality, a seal of assurance that you're living in a "proper" neighborhood, whatever that's supposed to mean. But for many, it's just an organization where your most power hungry neighbors who have the most fascist ideas about what proper garbage can placement is and the most free time to argue about it get to stretch out their bullying legs and tell fellow adults that they can't paint their house a certain shade of gray.

There are tons of times when the HOA does more harm than good, like this busy body "HOA Karen" gets a guy's car towed without actually being on the HOA board or this time where a homeowner staged a revolution against their corrupt HOA. As it turns out, people don't like being fined by their next-to-zero authority having neighbors, and they're willing to battle with them.

In this case, a local HOA got too big for its britches on a massive pizza order, and guess what? No more pizza. Bad HOA. Bad!

Jealous Coworker Tries to Get Woman Fired Because of Her Implants, That She Got After a Double Mastectomy, Plan Backfires

This woman found herself targeted by a catty coworker after the coworker discovered that she had breast implants. The woman had gotten them implants at the recommendation of her therapist following a double mastectomy. When the coworker escalated the drama to new heights and tried to get the woman fired from her job, the woman turned the situation around on the coworker.

This post stands as one of the highest-rated posts of all time on Reddit's r/ProRevenge subreddit, where it sits with a whopping 72.5k upvotes. The topic was initially posted by a user who has since deleted their account, but the post still stands as a monument to her incredible story of revenge.

This terrible coworker must have been jealous of the woman, her cruel comments and jokes reek of envy. Incredibly, the woman could get ahead of the situation and take substantial evidence to HR to defend herself. That seems to be the common theme in these situations.

Insane Tattoo Artist Brands Client With Their Initials, Can't Believe Client Is Upset

It's hard to imagine literally branding another human being and thinking that is ok but that is exactly what happened when this riled client made an unfortunate choice in a tattoo artist.

This story was posted to Reddit's r/AmItheAsshole subreddit by u/TattoodNoobAITA (OP), the tattooed individual in question.

The tattoo was to be a sentimental 'heirloom' type of piece as it was a tattoo that had been received by three generations of the men in OP's family. So it was essential that the piece look exactly like the others. OP brought a photo with him when he went to get it done, it was not to be an original or derivative work.

That's important here because the only supporting argument that could be made for the artist's actions that followed would be that she was an artist who wanted to sign her work. That, in and of itself, is an argument that a good number of us could understand. It is only natural for an artist to want to claim credit for their creation.

But there is a line here. The sheer number of tattoo artists who responded in the comments support this. It is never ok to leave your mark on another human being (without their consent). This is, apparently, a code within the tattoo artist community.

The other problem with this is that it wasn't even an original piece and it was important that it be identical to his ancestor's. So why sign it at all?

The simple fact of the matter is that branding another human being is a bit twisted and gets worse the more you think about it.

The artist takes the L here.

Manager Demands Worker Covers Shift on Their Day Off, Demands They Answer Their Phone When They Quit

An employee received a text from their boss last Thursday asking them to come in to cover a shift for their coworker. When the employee responded that they could not come in because they were studying for an exam, the boss answered that they were "expected to be available for tonight's shift." Things escalated to the boss saying they were "disappointed," and the employee decided it was time to walk away

The employee nailed it on the head; what a downright demanding individual. But we're starting to see so many posts like this it makes you wonder… just how prevalent is this?

This post was posted to the r/antiwork subreddit by Redditor u/Hoodtho after the incident last week. It was published with the title "Happened on Tuesday but [middle finger emoji] this idiot" and has hit the top of the subreddit with 21k upvotes.

Workers have been supportive and noted their thoughts on the topic. u/ItzYaBoiQuez noted that "Work likes to think it's your parent." which seemed to be something that many commenters could relate to. The comment has since garnered 3.3k upvotes.

Evil Stepmother Gives Away Guy's Playstation, Guy Gives Away Stepmother's House

In this story, two family members (it's complicated) came to metaphorical blows after the passing of their connecting loved one. It's an almost biblical tale of revenge as this step-son decided to take an eye for an eye after his "hag" of a stepmom took his Playstation out of his own home and gave it away.

This story was posted to the r/ProRevenge subreddit by u/YoungSourSwede (OP), the narrator and step-son in the story. He had tragically lost his mother to ovarian cancer five years before the events of this story took place. His father then remarried to Grace. u/YoungSourSwede was skeptical of her from the start. Luckily, when his father passed a year after the couple was married, he left the house to his son.

Grace was less than thrilled and, despite her making some inappropriate moves, the OP allowed her to stay on. Until she gave away his Playstation, that is.

Teacher Asks Kids What Makes A Good Person, Gets Mixed Results

George Pointon is a teacher and Twitter personality who, in his words, is "exploiting children's imagination for likes." At least he's being honest. In this escapade, he asked kids what they think makes a good person. Most of them had pretty straightforward answers that any regular adult would say. Some were a little more short-sighted. Maybe what's startling here is the percentage of kids these days who could still be duped by candy and a puppy. But at the same time, we all know a lot of adults who would get tricked by that too.

Maybe all we can really hope for when looking to 6 year olds about moral quandaries is that they've at least learned enough from life so far that their moral compass is pointed vaguely in the right direction. It seems like that's what we got here.

For some more goofy things kids think, here are somekids who tried and failed at difficult names.

Tumblr Gems To Help Deal With That Sinking Feeling

The internet is carved up into its various segments and domains, all with their own special features. Want to listen to your uncle spout off the most idiotic takes you've heard in your life? That's a job for Facebook. Want to listen to a complete stranger spout off some of the most idiotic takes you've heard in your life? Then Twitter is the place to go.

But if you want to read a person's werewolf fanfiction that includes them as the main character? That's a job for Tumblr. It's a strange place covered in everyone's weird ideas, and no story is perfectly safe from the praise and mockery of its users. Want to read a dissertation on the use of primary colors in Ratatouille? Have a need to see someone describe exactly how dangerous a goose is? Tumblr is there with some absolutely out-there junk.

For some more time-wasting spectacle, here are some more tumblr gems uncovered from the deep.

People Share Their Most Tantalizingly Useless Facts

The pursuit of knowledge is a noble one. At the same time, it probably doesn't help a whole lot to be able to describe exactly where cashews come from, or what elephants really think of mice. But at least it's amusing to know things, however trivial they may be. Many of us have done a great job tricking other people into thinking we ourselves are smart just because we know one or two things about the chocolate harvesting process. In actuality, we don't know that much, have few marketable skills, and are terrifically bad critical thinkers. Give us a square peg and a round hole and we'll bang those bastards together until the hole gets eroded. But ask us about the planets and we'll have at least 5 or 6 seemingly insightful things to say, and only 1 or 2 of them will be easily disprovable.

For some more insight into the world we live in, here are some science facts that show the terrifying scope of our universe.

Guy Insults Ex In Front of Her Husband, Wonders if He's Wrong

Presenting: This guy.

u/throwawaysnapchat_ra posted this topic to r/AmItheAsshole after a disastrous interaction on what became a painfully long flight.

He ran into his ex-girlfriend from University on a flight and recognized her before she realized who he was. They were seated next to one another, and once he confirmed who she was when she removed her mask momentarily, he engaged her in conversation.

Unbeknownst to him, the man seated next to her on the other side was her, now, husband. Things were pleasant until the Ex introduced u/throwawaysnapchat_ra as a "friend" from Uni, and the husband asked what his wife was like in Uni.

When u/throwawaysnapchat_ra replied with a thinly-veiled insult, things got real awkward quickly. The Ex told her husband, "He's that jerk I cut contact with." The couple swapped seats, and the husband shot daggers at him for the rest of the flight.

u/throwawaysnapchat_ra posted the thread wondering if what he did was wrong and has been obliterated in the comments. He had to make an edit asking people to stop sending him Direct Messages as he has gotten the point that he was wrong.

Will Smith Assaults Chris Rock Live at the Oscars, Wins Award Moments Later, Internet Reacts

What the heck just happened?

So, let's get this straight… You can get up on stage at the Oscars and attack a presenter live on television, and there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that security is going to do to stop you? You are then free to return to your seat while the person you just attacked has to fumble through the rest of their presentation awkwardly. You have got to be kidding me.

The show should have been stopped, and Will Smith should have been removed from the building. Please tell me I'm not the only one thinking that here.

Instead, he was gifted one of the most prestigious awards an actor can receive mere moments later. There is no way that he will be allowed to keep that once Chris Rock files for assault.

It was so unbelievable that something like that initial smack could happen that I admit I initially thought it was scripted. The lack of reaction from the production team made it seem like it had to be planned. It wasn't until Will returned to his seat that you started to wonder what the heck was happening.

His angry yell cutting through and awkward silence of a hall that had been, moments before, filled with fanfare has got to be one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen on television.

Sure, Chris's joke was in abysmal taste but if we can attack comedians now for saying something that we don't like, what sort of message is that sending? There needs to be serious repercussions for this type of behavior. Being Will Smith should not excuse you.

The Oscars are back in a big way, but for all the wrong reasons. We are going to be talking about this for a long time and Twitter has been going absolutely nuts since the incident occurred.

See the videos of the incident and Will's acceptance speech minutes later below, along with some of the best reactions so far.

Entitled People And Their Terrifically Shameless Demands

Life is full of surprises.

You might live your life thinking to yourself "there's no way that anyone would be selfish and petty enough to leave a one star review for a restaurant because they arrived 5 minutes after closing time and had to be turned away. In no world would anybody be so delusional as to think that the staff of a Jack In The Box owes it to them to stay at work after closing just so that they can get a burger." You would be invariably wrong. There are people like that absolutely everywhere. You might even know a few. You might even be one. And if you are that type of person, please know that the rest of us hate your guts.

But if you're not the kind of person who thinks that they should get to keep their neighbor's lawnmower because they "just want it more," then you might get be intrigued by a glimpse into the lives of people who seem to think that the people around them are just squishy mannequins who tell them "no." Feel entitled to view these bold shenanigans of entitled people.

Entitled Parent Won't Change Her Own Kid's Diaper, Insists Daycare Worker Do It Off The Clock

As a rule of thumb, if you're interested in having children, you should be prepared for the possibility that at some point, you're gonna get covered "baby product." Much like going on a rollercoaster if you hate rollercoasters, it would be considered unwise to have to take care of a thing that poops a lot if you are fundamentally incapable of tolerating the poop.

Which leads us to this lady's "solution" which was to ask someone else to change her kid's diaper for her as if they were her personal employee. It leads to the question, who is the true baby here? The internet went to bat for this person's right to not have to change a customer's kid's diapers off the clock just because this parent is afraid of doing the bare minimum of caring for her own child.

For another wild tale of parenting shenanigans, here's the entitled sister who dropped off her kids for unscheduled babysitting just to have their sibling dump the kids off at a real daycare.

"Nice Guy" Gets Roasted For Harassing Woman With Cringey Messages

After receiving harassment from this cringey "Nice Guy," a woman has posted the messages online where they have become a trending topic on Reddit.

Redditor u/Living_Swing9680 posted the images in this threadafter she became the target of persistent attention from an acquaintance.

The guy starts with some textbook "negging" before attempting to make his move; by the time u/Living_Swing9680 has given her second reply, it's already evident that she is over it.

The Nice Guy responds, "I see you broke up with [ex-boyfriend]," indicating a significant degree of personal familiarity and cueing us that this is, unfortunately, someone she knows and not just a Tinder match.

He responds that he is sorry for what her ex-boyfriend did before setting up his demands.

There are so many red flags from this guy. From the rehearsed "Pickup Artist" strategies to his complete inability to take "No." for an answer.

Guys. Don't treat women like this. No matter what you might have heard otherwise, this "Pickup Artist" bull is dangerous and plain creepy.

Power-Tripping Boss Reminds Employee She Can Quit Any Time, She Does

There are a lot of reasons to stay employed. For one thing, being warm and dry while getting to eat food is pretty sweet. Managers know how much people like not starving, and sometimes they'll leverage that fact and scare their employees instead of properly managing them.

This person had just such a boss, who took great joy in the fact in telling her that she could fire her at any time. Surprisingly, this isn't a very effective way to hold onto staff in the long run. Who knew? It should also be noted that treating people this way gives them good cause to consider making a "screw it, I'll deal with it later" kind of decision.

The thing about at-will agreements is that they work both ways, so this employee was well aware that she could quit at any time she liked. So when the time was right, she took advantage of the agreement her boss seemed so keen on referencing.

For some bombastic exchanges, here are satisfying times people quit an unreasonable boss.

Woman's Boyfriend Can't Control His Entitled Daughter When They Invite Themselves On Her Holiday, She Leaves Them At a Car Rental and Tells Them to Find Their Way Home

After her boyfriend invited himself and his brat daughter on this mother's holiday with her sons, they could not have been on worse behavior. After putting up with the daughter's entitled behavior for most of the trip, the mother snapped and sent them packing, leaving them at a car rental agency and telling them to find their way home.

The altercation between the couple occurred after a series of infuriating events enabled by the boyfriend, Dave, a 44-year-old male and perpetrated by his 17-year-old daughter. His girlfriend, a 27-year-old woman, and the boys' mother, u/719917710, posted the topic to the r/AmItheAsshole subreddit to get outsider's opinions on whether or not she was in the wrong.

The road trip was supposed to be a chance for the mother to get some time alone with her sons, doing the things they had always wanted to do together but had not been able to.

"I booked a road trip for me and my sons roughly 3 months ago." explains u/719917710, "A road trip consisting of roughly 26 hours worth of driving with stops in between. This is the first time I've ever been financially able to do much of anything with my children so I went all out. Planned to stop at every place they had ever asked me to go, basically. I was beyond excited to surprise them with this trip."

Things started to get complicated when Dave invited himself and his teenage daughter along.

"A week before leaving my [boyfriend] Dave decides he wants to go with me and bring Ann as a "bonding" experience. We do not live together and Ann has never liked me because I'm "boring". She has said this to my face. So Dave thinks it will be good. I didn't really want either of them to go but thought what the hell, why not."

The reasons "why not" would soon emerge when the daughter was repeatedly offended at the very presence of the young boys and their mother. Her entitled behavior was unrestrained by her father. Tension and temper began to rise as the trip approached its pivotal moment.

It's hard to call, but our stance is that this is leaning away from being an "NTA" (Not the Asshole) and more of an "ESH" (Everybody Sucks Here). Obviously, the boyfriend and his daughter are absolute assholes here and deserved almost every bit of this. But the mother had plenty of opportunities to say "No." to them coming on the trip and her reaction was an emotional one that put them in the precarious situation of getting home from out of state. So it's hard for us to let her off the hook.

That being said, commenters were resoundingly supportive of her actions and overwhelmingly proclaimed her "NTA".

Guy Sexually Harasses Female Coworker With Inappropriate Texts, She Responds Via Work Email With the Messages Attached

When a coworker targeted this woman with unsolicited texts and harassment, she devised a clever plan to bring him into the light.

The thread was posted to the r/AmItheAsshole subreddit this week by the aptly named u/businessbittch with the title "AITA for replying to a coworker's inappropriate texts by work email, and attaching them?"

It's hard to imagine a situation where you could be "the asshole" for deftly handling a coworker's inappropriate behavior. Still, her posting of the topic was fortunate as she received some sound advice.

Commenters were quick to offer their admiration for how she handled the situation. "May I say, you have brass ovaries, and I admire them," said Jetztinberlin

Others urged her to take the issue to the Human Resources department and "get ahead of" the problem. "Go to HR immediately. NTA." replied user MurielFinster. To which u/businessbittch responded, "I was thinking I'd wait to see if he would chill... But honestly, with him coming by to bother me in person, that's not a bad idea."

Woman Brings Dishes From Home to Trick Others Into Washing Them at Work, Coworker Introduces Dishes to the Bin

Sometimes an inappropriate action deserves the appropriate response; it's the simple laws of cause and effect acting out their parts. This is how it was when u/elena247's coworker decided to execute the clever ploy of bringing their dirty dishes into work to have others wash them. When u/elena247 discovered what their coworker was up to, they decided the appropriate response was to introduce the dirty dishes to the trash can. Sounds like a reasonable plan to us.

This topic was posted to the r/pettyrevenge subreddit, where it got 7.8k upvotes. Commenters overwhelmingly supported u/elena247's actions who explained the situation a little more in the post.

"I'm a server and we do have a dishwasher on certain days but oftentimes if it's slow the dishwasher won't come in and it's up to the servers to wash the dishes from service," u/elena247 explains. " As you can imagine, this can lead to us being torn from two places at once hence my repeated frustration at her bringing her dishes in the morning and dumping them for a server to do instead of her quickly putting them through the dishwasher herself."

The coworker sounds like a lazy good-for-nothing. Besides, as commenters have also addressed, wouldn't it take MORE effort to bring the dishes to work and back then to wash them yourself at home?

Dealership Tells Guy He'll Have to Sue in Order to Resolve Issues With His Vehicle, He Does, Management Sees Writing on the Wall and Caves

When this customer bought a used 2014 Mazda 5 from a dealership, the last thing he was expecting was for the car to stop running less than a month later. The dealership refused to accept responsibility despite their mechanical guarantee when the vehicle refused to start on Christmas Day. The manager told the customer that he'd have to sue to get anything out of them, so he took their advice.

Redditor u/functi0nalPsych0path posted this thread to the r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit, where it hit trending and garnered a whopping twenty-nine thousand upvotes.

When the poster began having troubles with his vehicle, he organized for the repair to be covered by the dealership, but he could not get a hold of anyone when the bill came through.

After finally getting a hold of and explaining his frustration to the Supervisor of the dealership, the Supervisor interjected with some choice words. Words that he would live to regret. "He cuts me off and says, 'What, are you going to take us to court over $296.47? I don't think so, but go ahead and sue. We will win, and if that small amount is worth suing to you, you probably don't have the resources to actually sue.'"

Twitter Thread: Kids Trying And Failing At Hard Names

It's not very intuitive for a 3-year-old to grasp that another kid's name can be England. He only knows like 30 words anyway. That's how you end up with a kid coming home and saying they just met a new friend named Eggplant. And since kids can be pretty confident about this sort of thing, they'll defend their decision with tooth and nail, insisting that it's completely reasonable that a parent would name their kid Eggplant.

The parents of Twitter shared their similar experiences when their own children insisted on meeting a peer with a name like "Dumpster" or "Harmonica." And honestly, with all the Kelvyns and MacKeighleighs running around, it's getting harder and harder to know if your kid is mistaken, or if some parent out there really did name their child "Chaos."

For another thrilling episode of millennial fandom baby names, here's the joker of a coworker who named their kid after their fandom and then criticized a woman for doing the same.

Woman Ignites Voracious Online Debate By Claiming that Women Should Receive PTO For Menstruation

Another r/antiwork post has been rocking the foundations of the internet over the last 24 hours. This post titled "Women should be given PTO for heavy periods. Do you agree?"

The topic was posted to r/antiwork by u/CallMeWolfYouTuber, which sparked the online debate. At the time of this writing, the post has earned 23k upvotes.

In the post, u/CallMeWolfYouTuber explains her stance, "I feel like women people with a uterus should be given PTO for heavy and/or especially painful periods. It's so painful sometimes, and it feels like all of the energy has been sapped from your body."

The argument for menstrual leave has been hotly debated on the internet for several years with the topic being featured on Fortune and Time within the last few months. The support for the movement has been gaining momentum over the previous few years, which is enormous strides considering Maternal Leave was being contested in the United States less than 30 years ago.1

But what defines a "heavy period"? Is that something that we want to leave a private company to decide? This is one of the things pointed out by commenters of the thread.

"I think you want a generic PTO policy - last thing you need is some idiot in HR verifying your claim." replied user reddogrjw.

It stands to reason that a more comprehensive, overarching PTO policy regulation would be the right answer. Providing an employer with too much medical history can only be disadvantageous and explicit policies for specific conditions only erodes your right and ability to maintain Medical Privacy from your employer.

Workplace Fairness describes this right as follows.

"As an employee, there are just some things that an employer does not need to know. For example, that one time you broke your arm bike riding in college, or that time you had your blood drawn to test for pregnancy. While this information may seem irrelevant and, at times, highly sensitive, your employer may have access to such information. Some employers can even require you to take medical tests or inquire about your medical history"

Other commenters seemed to be in the same frame of mind. "Everyone should have PTO for whatever personal reasons they want to use it." commented user leonardsansbees.

Less supportive commenters adopted a "suck it up" mentality. "This is the most stupidest shit I've read. Why should women get special privileges for being a woman lol. You should just get pto when needed." remarked PersimmonRecent4732.

"If women get time off for "heavy periods", men should get time off for dealing with those women, Awomen!" declared Then_Arachnid6445.

"I don't even give my woman a day off sex when she has heavy flow." commented another user, receiving a flood of downvotes on their comment.

All in all, being r/antiwork, responses were largely supportive. What's your take on the issue?

Business Owner Refuses to Remove Guy's Phone Number From Receipts, Guy Pretends to Be Business Owner

When a lazy and cheap business owner got rid of their old number it was reassigned to this guy's private residence. The phone calls began pouring in from confused customers.

This delicious story of revenge was posted to r/IDontWorkHereLady by u/Billiam201

u/Billiam201explains that he tried to contact the business and resolve the issue but was met with a rude reaction from the person who turned out to be the business's owner, "Fred". After some conversations with the business's staff about how cheap the owner was, he realized he was dealing with an extremely unreasonable individual who was not going to do the right thing. So this guy was all like, "Look at me, I am the Captain Business Owner now."

Taking matters into his own hands would prove to be an effective strategy and, after several nuclear reactions from deceived customers who thought their orders were being handled by the fake "Fred", he got his wish.

Dejected Son Destroys Cheating Father's Life, Takes Everything In All-Out Family Warfare, Leaves Him With Nothing

This son had a tempestuous relationship with his old man. The two briefly reconciled when his dad got cancer, only for his dad's adultery to be revealed. He supported his mother through separation from his father, which put him squarely in the crosshairs of his dad's "traditional" family. After an encounter with the family, a plot began to take shape.

This story was posted to Reddit's r/prorevenge subreddit but strayed well into "Nuclear Revenge" territory. In this story, u/thunderkerg tells how he took down his terrible father. It's worth noting that this story takes place in a country outside of the US, so different laws and cultural norms apply.

Buckle in because this story is one of the longest we have seen this year, but it is well and truly worth reading. Make yourself a nice hot cup of coffee and settle in.

Stupid Design Fails That Made Things More Complicated Than They Needed To Be

How hard is it to build a stadium that doesn't have a section of seats facing a 20 foot high brick wall? Apparently it's excruciatingly difficult.

How tough is it to make a bike lane that doesn't run straight into oncoming traffic? For some reason it's like rocket science.

The world is full of poorly designed things. Maybe the designers themselves ran out of time or materials? Maybe they just didn't care? Maybe they got halfway done, noticed a small snag with their plan and said "yeah that's not my job."

We can only be so lucky that people make these kinds of stupid mistakes, or else the world would be boring, perfectly functioning place full of informative signs. And that sounds terrible. What we need is more logos that are supposed to look like a chef cooking a burger but end up looking like someone sniffing a butt. God bless poor design skills.

Tumblr Thread: Lord of the Flies Isn't An Accurate Reflection Of All Humanity

Most of us read Lord of the Flies at some point in high school. Or at least we pretended to. It was often presented as a sort of dive into the worst parts of human nature, showing what would happen in a world of children in a tribal setting and no authorities. But as it turns out, the circumstances of the writing of the book are more complicated than that. Add to the fact a real world example of kids becoming stranded on a desert island who didn't go to war with each other, and you've got some claims that go against the outline presented by the admittedly fictional story that is Lord of the Flies.

Sometimes teachers want to prove a point about the inherent decay of law and order when kids are left to their own devices, and time and time again things don't actually go as they'd planned. For instance, there's this tumblr thread about a teacher who underestimated her students in a social experiment in class. This is the type of circumstance that leads directly into this informative Tumblr Thread.

Management Won't Pay 10 bucks For Ground Crew, Loses Airline Thousands

A real jerk of a boss will use your very human sense of responsibility to try and force you into undervaluing yourself. At times it seems ridiculous. But once you "take one for the team" and give your employer something for free, all they learn from that is that they can remain understaffed and now take advantage of you in perpetuity. If you ever find yourself doing your boss's job, remind yourself that it's not a favor. It's you covering up for their sheer incompetence. In the eyes of a giant faceless company, your graciousness, loyalty and skill will only ever be seen as a new free resource to be exploited.

With that in mind, here's an employee whose boss thought they could get away with not paying their employee the commensurate amount to act as a lead. The employee, seeing that this isn't the proper way to go about things, requested that a "qualified individual" complete the task, and things stalled. Sounds like the airline should have kept enough staff around to actually run their company.

Terrifically Stupid Things People Have Heard Someone Say

It's often misleading, the fact that we all exist in the same physical reality. It's easy to forget that not everyone is aware of the same rules and features of the shared plane of existence we find ourselves in. And it doesn't even have to do with any particular creed or set of beliefs. There are people out there who simply weren't paying attention at school the day we all learned that air exists. It's fundamental misgivings like this that hide in people's brains for years, only to present itself later, like syphilis, during an argument or even just a friendly discussion.

"Why is it that when I stop breathing, my brain stops feeling good?" your friend, a seemingly functioning adult, asks you.

"Because your brain needs oxygen" you say, a little taken aback.

"Oxy clean?" he responds. And it dawns on you that you need to start a lot further back than you originally thought.

For some more people who need to go back to the 4th grade, here are some of the dumbest things people heard out of another person's mouth.

Rude Store Clerk Mansplains Knife Pricing to Woman, She Gives Up, Gets a Steal of a Deal

A hasty and rude retail worker quickly corrected this woman when she pointed out a pricing error on a chef's knife she was interested in. She relented in revealing the mistake to the worker and ended up with a deal on a great knife.

This story was shared to the r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/TIL_eulenspiegel, the woman in the story, where it earned 19k upvotes as of the writing of this post.

The u/TIL_eulenspiegel, the Original Poster of the topic (referred to as the "OP" in Reddit's culture), opened with some context to the situation that occurred.

"My most-frequently-used knife was an 8-inch chef's knife, but the one I had was of such crappy quality that I dreamed of the day when I would have enough money to buy myself a Real Knife." the OP explains, "So when I eventually got my first professional job, I got my finances all straightened out and decided that it was time to make my big knife purchase."

When she went to the department store she was greeted by an "older man" who was extremely helpful. But by the time she had made her selection he had gone on break and been replaced by a "young rover from another department."

When she approached the counter with her selection the knife rang up as $40, which she was certain was incorrect. When she attempted to correct the error the youngster interrupted her. Upon inspection of the label, it was clear to the OP that the knife had been labeled incorrectly. The label described a six-inch sandwich knife when it was clearly an eight-inch chef's knife.

This marginalization is something that is extremely frustrating to experience. It often occurs when someone makes the assumption that you won't know much about a topic because of certain attributes. Usually, they are overtly patronizing or condescending. The reality in these situations is that you're more experienced in the topic than they are but they oftentimes won't pause for long enough to realize this.

Sometimes it's an honest mistake, you launch into an explanation about something because it's a special interest of yours. Maybe you're a retail worker or it's otherwise your job to explain something to people and just default into your spiel before fully analyzing the situation and who you're talking to.

There are various reasons why you could accidentally do this to someone with reasonable explanations. But, unfortunately, the trend is also very commonly targeted towards women with undertones of bigotry and misogyny. We refer to this as 'mansplaining'. The term is misused now and broadly misattributed but it has important lessons to teach us.

In this case, that marginalization worked in u/TIL_eulenspiegel's favor. She gave up on correcting the young man and ended up with a hell of a deal on a knife. Sounds like a win to us.

Raging Karen Demands Service From Burned Down Restaurant

When the local drive-thru restaurant burned down, this Karen was uncertain how she would get her daily fix. Set and rigid in her Karen ways, she decided to give it a crack and force the firefighters and investigators to serve her. After all, she always gets whatever she wants.

This exciting thread was posted this week to the r/DontWorkHereLady subreddit by user u/alannahmyles. A subreddit where people post stories where they, or others, are mistaken for a store's workers. The stories usually feature some insane individual (usually a Karen) who refuses to accept that the storyteller is not an employee.

We've seen some pretty bizarre situations in this subreddit where people have demanded service from random strangers. You can see how some of these mistakes might be made when people are wearing similar colored clothing to the workers of the store, but demanding service from a freshly burned-out building is downright insane.

Hope she likes her fries extra crispy.

School Locker Thief Gets the Book Thrown at Him in Savage Revenge Story

This trending Reddit post details a story of brutal revenge on a high school locker thief in the early 2000s. It has sparked discussions surrounding locker theft, and commenters have shared their own various stories.

Reddit user u/Dunnachius shared this story to the r/ProRevenge subreddit. A place where users go to share stories, such as this one, where someone got even in a big way. Tales from the subreddit are easily identified by the purple 'smiling face with horns' emoji that the sub uses as its icon.

u/Dunnachius describes the situation as it occurred at the time. When they became the target of a recurring locker thief during a crimewave at the school, their uncle Buddy, who was a detective, stepped in to get to the bottom of the case.

As a personal anecdote… In high school, I had my Nintendo DS stolen out of my PE locker by someone who I considered to be a friend. He was into drugs or something and was desperate for some cash. The weird thing was that he was from an extremely wealthy family and had no business stealing. I caught him red-handed when I responded to a suspicious Craigslist, and he responded with his email address. Dad took me over to his house and showed his father the emails, and the DS was promptly returned. I often wonder who else he was stealing from and know that we probably should have reported the incident to the school or police. But he was someone I had considered a friend, and, despite his actions, that seemed like an extreme measure.

Plant Mom's Sister-In-Law and Niece Say They'll Watch Plants, Cut Up And Sell The Pieces

It's the worst nightmare of any plant person. Seemingly trusted individuals weedled their way into the house under the auspices of taking care of plants, just to turn the place into a one stop crop chop shop.

Not only can plants be extremely expensive, they also take a lot of time and effort to propagate. It's one thing to just steal someone's stuff, but to destroy their hard work while simultaneously stealing from them is some serious assery.

And since plants are plants, it's pretty difficult to communicate that frustration to anyone else, to the point that you seem insane. Since most people are under the impression that plants "will just grow back," being furious about this makes you seem like the crazy one. When you really think about it, a stunt like this is more akin to someone saying they're going to housesit for you, but coming home to find out they've spent the whole week selling your furniture.

Here are some more absurdly rude houseguests who made themselves far too comfortable.

Dudes Share Unspoken Universal Rules Of Mandom

There are certain things that every guy notices about being a dude. Activities and practices that we are inextricably pulled toward. Maybe it was once taught to us by a father, brother or uncle. Maybe we saw it in a movie and it just made sense. Or maybe it's just stuff we started doing on our own because it felt nice. Some are arbitrary. Some are absolutely necessary. Some are a little in between. But they are still things we are compelled to do. For example, observing the sacredness of the buffer urinal and the essential "test-clicking" of barbeque tongs. These are activities that simply must be done.

But also, don't get too serious about it. Don't go around just doing what other people tell you to do just cause. When random guys start making up stupid rules about what is and isn't manly, things can tip into the ridiculous. That's how you end up with absurd reasons men had their masculinity questioned.

Restaurant Executive Plots to Pay Workers Less By Exploiting the Rising Price of Gas in This Leaked Viral Email

A leaked email has shocked the internet today after going viral. It was posted to the Reddit r/antiwork subreddit earlier this morning, where it has earned 68k upvotes in 12 hours. An absolutely insane number of votes even for the standards of more popular subreddits.
