Funniest Memes About Dating App Fails We Saw This Week

Does anybody else have the experience of swiping on a dating app, and suddenly forgetting that this is not a game? We grew up playing silly single-player games on our phones, and now suddenly these are real people not just pictures or characters. There's no coin prize, and the goal is to get off of the app. Something about that just seems so confusing. But maybe that's not a universal experience, maybe  The majority of people have all adjusted and then some of us just don't belong on the apps.
It seems almost silly that people still have such aversion to the apps when it clearly works for so many couples, but there are still definitely a bunch of peculiar characters to be found basically every time you enter them, so if you have the patience it'll definitely be worth your while, but also if you just want to laugh it's probably also definitely worth your while.
So whatever you're going on the apps is, we're sure you will be entertained by these memes.

Insane Karen Leaves Scathing 1-Star Review After Being Kicked Out of a Bar For Giving Her Underaged Daughter Alcohol

This Karen left a scathing 1-star review after being kicked out of a bar for giving her underaged daughter a sip of her alcoholic beverage. Now, she is getting roasted in the Reddit subreddit r/F#ckyoukaren; you can probably guess how these readers feel about entitled Karen behavior.

The thread was posted to the smaller sub by Reddit user, u/TheDuck00, who shared screenshots of the review to the popular subreddit with the title "What do you mean my underaged daughter can't have alcohol?" in a mocking impression of what the entitled Karen must have been thinking as she wrote the review.

We've all seen these types of entitled people out and about in the world who think that the rules just don't apply to them. These people believe that it's ok to jump the line in a queue or drive down the shoulder of the highway to dodge traffic. We'd all be better off if these people would just up and disappear.

The reality of this situation is that, as commenters have pointed out, the bartender would lose their job if they allowed this behavior and "served alcohol" to a minor. Stings conducted by alcohol and liquor boards and licensing departments are a real threat in many jurisdictions; losing a liquor license means losing your business.

Readers had the following to say in the comments.

"The weirdest part of it is that they actually informed the bartender that the daughter was under 21 by asking about the rules," remarked user Hamblerger. "If they hadn't done that, then there's at least a possibility that this would have been ignored. As the bartender knew that she was underage, though, and had informed them that she couldn't drink, he had an absolute obligation to do what he did."

"For all he knew, they worked for the State licensing department, and his employer was going to get closed down, and he'd likely get fired," replied user Ok_Cauliflower_3007.

This thread was posted on Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit by Reddit user u/dancing_elephant0903, the friend scorned by her bad-mouthing bestie. She shared her story to the popular revenge with the title "BFF sent the wrong text and ruined her bachelorette party."

Readers condemned the bride's behavior in the comments and discussed the reasons people act like this in the comments. Worth noting that the original poster was very active in the comments of this thread and offered multiple responses that provided more context surrounding the story.

"It's always mind-boggling to me that people pretend to be friends with people they don't like," remarked user SahjoBai "Why not just not hang out with someone if you think they're annoying? She was a user and deserved it. I don't even feel bad for her friends…"

"Some people need to degrade others so they can feel better about themselves," said Frolicking-Fox. "Although, someone like this probably just talks about all her friends behind their back."

"I think you nailed it," replied the original poster of the thread to these two users. "I should've known because she would say things to me about her other friends. I was in my 20s and naive. Learned a very valuable lesson."

Guy Avoids Running Into Ex While On Vacation, Only To Be Stuck Together On The Same Flight Home

A 20-year-old man got stuck on the same flight home with his ex-girlfriend after avoiding her while they were both on vacation in Paris. This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmItheA**hole subreddit by user u/Backup_276367383, who recounted his tale of a vacation gone wrong following a tough breakup

The Redditor had saved his money to go on a month-plus long vacation in Europe, only to discover a few months prior that he and his ex would overlap in Paris on their respective trips. They made loose plans to grab drinks. You know, the kinds of plans you make when you run into a former co-worker on the street and say "we should get coffee sometime" before never exchanging any follow-up messages.

Well, by the time the Redditor arrived in Paris, he was hanging out with friends in a place with minimal service. Of course, when he checked his phone a couple of days later, he was bombarded with missed texts and calls from his ex, asking if he wanted to make plans and grab drinks. Out of fear, the man decided to ignore her messages because he "didn't want to deal with her getting angry and making me feel guilty like she did when we were dating."

Of course, matters were made worse when the two wound up on the same flight home. They shared an uncomfortable moment at the gate, in which the ex-girlfriend expressed that she could have been in serious trouble while he was ghosting her. However, as the Redditor explained, she wasn't in trouble. She just wanted to get drinks, and he clearly wasn't ready for that. Thankfully, they weren't seated next to one another on the plane.

We've seen other stories about tumultuous breakups in recent months. For instance, this woman shared her story about getting her ex-boyfriend arrested after he stole $14K.

Viral Thread: Worker Quits on Second Day After Lies From Interview Are Exposed

This restoration apprentice reported that he left their new role on the second day after discovering the employer had lied about the working hours during the interview process. He shared his experience on the popular r/antiwork subreddit, where it got viral views.

The thread was shared by Reddit user u/ButtKylerJr, who titled his post, "I quit on the second day because I was lied to at my interview." He goes on to explain that family time is incredibly important to him, and while he was interviewing for a role as a restoration apprentice, he was promised that "[They] would be working from 7:30 to 4:00 (4:30 at the latest)." This was revealed to be a complete fabrication when, on his first day, he was required to work until past 6:30 pm.

Not only did this make him late home, but it also made his wife late for her job.

When he returned to work the next day he was criticized in front of the entire team for the way that he left the previous evening, that was the final straw and enough for him to walk away.

Readers had the following to say in the comments.

"Not fired but berated in public?" remarked mkbloodyen. "Sounds like they are hurting for staff."

"Having worked with a couple of these restoration companies, I have to say, I have never seen a decent one, ever," said JustAbicuspidRoot. "Each time I have had one come into my home, I had to threaten to sue them and then rip them apart on all online review services just to get them to finish the job in a timely manner. In short, these predators will come into your home, block the entire thing off while they bilk your insurance company for months on a job which should take no more than a week."

"You nailed it," replied the original poster. "There were 3 of us on the board up. They finally sent another person after the 1st hour. One was standing around not doing much. The other was moving nice and slow, bilking away. Then there was me. Busting my ass moving as fast as possible trying to get home."
