Funniest Memes for the Aging, Working, Adulting Millennial

Remember when millennials WERE the culture? Sorry, ARE. Some of us are not ready to use past tense just yet.

We need to feel relevant still, ya know? It's nothing against the boomers, who will seemingly never retire. It's nothing against the zoomers, who seem to actually think Euphoria is quality television. And it's nothing against the Gen Xers, who frankly will be flattered that we remembered to include them in this little rant.

I guess the time is rapidly approaching for millennials to confront the harsh reality that we are no longer at the forefront of popular culture. And like every generation, we must delay facing that harsh reality until the very end, only this time, we shall do it with memes

These memes were compiled on Instagram from @millennial_misery, @corporate_millennial_memes, and @insta.single. For more meme compilations like this, check out this collection of memes for people who can't quite party like they used to!

Janitor Told to ‘Stick to the Correct Methods’ by Rude Boss, Stops Going Above and Beyond

There's nothing worse than going above and beyond what your job description requires and getting no recognition for it. Hold on, I take that back, let's revise… The only thing worse than getting no recognition for going above and beyond in your job is actually getting reprimanded for it.

That's exactly what happened to this janitor when they found themselves at odds with their micromanaging boss who was determined to find flaws in their work.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/maliciouscompliance subreddit by Reddit user u/Breeder_Joey who shared their story on the popular sub. They shared their story with the title "'Try and stick to the planning and the correct methods.' Sure, I will." referencing the directive they received from their crappy boss.

Readers responded to the story in the comments.

"Never mess with the cleaning and service staff," responded Lylac_Krazy. "They generally know where, who, what, and when everything is. Toss in how it's done also. In every position I ever had, I always find THAT person and make good with them. Ever need to get into the supply closet? need to know the cleanest bathroom? Want to know the latest shit going down? Always know the custodian."

This person clearly works in the Sacred Heart Hospital from Scrubs and learned not to get on the wrong side of Janitor… I'll accept no other explanation.

Guy Asks Girlfriend With Abandonment Issues if He Can Go on a Trip With His Friends, She Loses It

Note to self: if you're dating someone with major abandonment issues, good luck trying to schedule any time with other people!

This guy has had to skip out on several of his annual biking trips with his friends because his girlfriend is uncomfortable with the two of them being apart. He posted his story to this thread on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit. Now, if there were a history of, say, infidelity or something of that variety, perhaps this would make sense. But that doesn't seem to be the case here. Instead, we have a case of good old-fashioned abandonment issues.

After the couple worked out some of their issues (at least, temporarily), his girlfriend seemed willing to allow him to go on the next trip provided that they were still in a good place. Things continued to go well, the poor boyfriend thought they were in a good enough place for him to book the next trip with his buddies, and he and his girlfriend even went on a vacation of their own together. Once that was done and he brought up the next friend trip, it started all over again. There were tears, there was shouting, and if you listened closely, you could hear the ticking clock that is their relationship.

Our takeaway here falls in line with our takeaway for most relationship issues: one or both of you need therapy. She needs therapy to dissect her abandonment issues and perhaps the guy needs to reflect on why he's still in this relationship because it just seems like a vicious cycle at this point. And before one of you in the comments even says it, the failure here is not premarital $ex.

Woman Reports Boss to HR For Mocking Her Daughter's Speech Development

This boss clearly got what she deserved. After overhearing a conversation in which a woman told her co-worker about her two-year-old's slow speech development, her boss joined in and said that the woman's daughter is "probably just stupid." Later, the woman heard her boss continue to make fun of her "mute" daughter to another co-worker, even using the R word.

Yikes. It's like she was trying to get fired, right? Either that or she's actually a trash human being. Honestly, she's probably both of those things. The mother shared her story via this thread on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit. She reported her supervisor to HR and now that the investigation is underway, her boss's supervisor has been complaining about how short-handed they are at work and how doomed they will be if her boss gets fired.

A note to the Redditor: do not feel guilty. Not even for a second. This was your boss's fourth write-up to HR. It takes more effort to mess up that much than it takes to get to the end of Avengers: Endgame. If she can't get it together, she shouldn't have this job. Pure and simple.

We've seen plenty of instances where horrible bosses crossed a line. This boss was so behind on paying his employees that he owed them more than $12K. Keep scrolling for u/AITA-hrreport's original post!

'You don’t need to clock in until 8:30': Employer refuses to pay employee for 2.5 hour training session

There's nothing more infuriating and invalidating than being undervalued or underpaid for your work. Bonus points when an employer or client just flat-out refuses to pay you or tries to gaslight you into paying you less.

Well, when Redditor u/cleverbiscuit1738 was called into their place of work at 6 am for training they were told by their manager that they "Don't need to punch in until 8:30" while being abruptly whisked away from the punch-in clock. Their shift didn't usually start until 8:30 and since they were, as they claimed to be, "young and naive" they didn't dare say anything.

When their paycheck came to them, they noticed that it was the same as it was every other week, despite working more hours for the training.

This is a classic ploy used by nefarious employers to reduce the cost of labor and take advantage of their most exploitable workers, the ones who are in a vulnerable or inexperienced position and least likely to speak up.

Readers gave some solid advice on how to deal with this situation. Keep reading to see the thread and responses below.

Funniest Memes About Dating App Fails We Saw This Week

Being on dating apps can either be really fun, or extremely cringy. Many people find genuine connections on them, but man people basically use Tinder as if it was a regular game on their phone. We're probably all guilty of opening the app solely for entertainment from time to time out of boredom. We can't help it, we've gotten way too comfortable with casually swiping. Is it sad? Who's to say?

There's also something to be said about these painfully terrible profiles. Is the goal really to have an impeccable profile? Isn't it kind of off-putting if someone's pictures are a little too perfect, and their prompts are a little too thought out? Then again, we're sure the person that they're meant to be with will appreciate the extra effort they put into all of that.

Anywho, whether you love the apps, or despise them, you'll probably get a kick out of these memes.
