Boss Insists Breast Pumping Mom Turn Camera On For Work Meeting, Creates New Policy

Anyone who's had to do any kind of video conference call has probably had to deal with the dilemma of "do I have to turn on my camera." Usually it's simply a matter of not wanting to be seen in your stain-shirt by the CEO, but other times, there's actually a good reason you might not be perfectly fit for public viewing. This employee let her lead know that she might not be fit for camera, and gave a reasonable explanation. But naturally, they didn't want to hear it. What resulted was the whole office getting a peak into her personal life. Lo and behold, a completely new work policy came out of the episode. So hey, workplace culture isn't as impenetrable as one might think.

For another manager who didn't get that some people have legitimate reasons to not show up on camera, here's the firefighter who got dragged into a mandatory work meeting and ended up calling in from an active fire.

Idiot Insists Guy’s House is a Chinese Restaurant, Gets Served Justice

If you find yourself holding a phone number that's one digit off of a high traffic number like a dentist's office or restaurant, it's understandable to become frustrated when people keep blowing up your phone demanding root canals and mu shu pork. Messing with someone who made an honest mistake isn't terrifically moral, but if you inform that caller of their mistake and they respond by insisting you deliver them their so-desperately desired molar filling/dumpling filling, then whatever happens next is totally on them.

They say the definition of insanity is when you do the same thing expecting different results. And this one seems to fit the bill. He could have just listened to what the person on the other line was explicitly telling him, but no dice.

This story prompted other people to share their own wrong dumb caller stories. And all we can really say about them is, good thing they never had to meet in person.

Husband Refers to His Wife's Cooking as Pig Slop, She Refuses to Cook For Him

This wife has decided that she is done cooking for her husband after she overheard him telling her father-in-law that her cooking "can only be fed to pigs, not humans." Her feelings are extremely hurt but the husband claims that he had been "trying to protect her feelings" and that she "hurt him."

This thread was posted to r/AITA (Am I the Asshole) by the wife, u/WalkAMileI5, who is wondering if she is in the wrong for refusing to cook for her husband after overhearing his comments.

Commenters have been lambasting the husband and condemning his attitude, "Nta, f#&k that noise. I wouldn't cook for him EVER again." said angellove200. "NTA, he doesn't deserve your cooking. Or give him the potato peels, like you would a pig." replied likeahike.

Overall the determination seems to be that she should no longer cook for him and should do whatever makes her happy.

Boomer Employer Blames Gen Z For Their Hiring Issues

Commenters on one of Reddit's fastest-growing subreddits gathered to share their thoughts on a viral image that was shared by one of the users.

This thread was posted to r/antiwork by Redditor u/mysterioussoup who shared the image in a thread with the title" Proud of Gen Z."

The image depicts two A4 sheets of paper with a message lambasting the shop's Gen Z employees:

4/20

I apologize for us closing AGAIN.

My 2 new cashiers quit because I said their boyfriends couldn't stand here for their entire shift.

Don't Hire Gen Z's

They don't know what work actually means.

NOW HIRING!

*Baby-boomers only. Thanks!

Commenters have remarked on the fact that the job probably isn't anything that the aging baby boomers would be remotely interested in.

"Now hiring baby boomers... for the salary, I paid new-to-the-workforce teens" is sure to bring in massive crowds." said grobmob. User Ya-Dikobraz replied "Most boomers are retired now. Some of those retired would actually do something like a cashier job. I also feel like they really meant Gen-X, not Boomers. But Gen-X is like the forgotten generation."

"FFS. I'm a boomer, and the last place I'd work is somewhere with only boomers." said another user.

Overall, the general consensus appears to be that the alleged creator of the sign is totally off-base and that this sign is possibly a signifier of a toxic employer.
