Party Fails For Folks Who Are Still Recovering From a Lit Weekend

It may be Monday, but we're already gearing up for the weekend! For many of you, it's back to work after two days of what should have been resting. Instead, your weekend was full of late nights and poor decision-making. And after all of that debauchery, are we just expected to put on our formal clothes and head back into the workplace like nothing ever happened? How can one do that when one still suffers from a headache and can't keep anything down?

If we are describing you perfectly, have no fear. You are not alone. In fact, as you will see from this compilation of party fails below, there are countless individuals who are probably still haunted by the decisions they made this past weekend. And yet, next weekend, it is highly likely that we will be doing it all again. As Rihanna once said, cheers to freakin' weekend! For more content like this, check out these oversharing fails.

Update: Horrible Parents Don’t Tell Daughter About Her Education Fund, She Finds Out in the Worst Way

These parents are living proof that having a PhD and a Master's does not necessarily make you smart! This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/JacquesBN, who shared his story about the education funds his own parents set up for his kids.

The Redditor and his wife had hoped that both their son and their daughter would get advanced degrees, so they didn't tell either child about the money. Their daughter pursued humanities in college and scraped by on scholarship money and on her own. Meanwhile, their son pursued STEM and, when it became clear to his parents that he wasn't going to pursue graduate school, they decided to use his education fund on a nice apartment for him during his undergraduate education. Of course, it was only a matter of time before their daughter was going to find out about this completely biased, totally unfair nonsense. And when she did, it wasn't pretty. Keep scrolling below for an update from the original poster about the current state of their relationship.

'Anything unplanned is unexcused': Employer instates policy promising disciplinary action for sick leave

It's really hard to plan when you're going to be sick; as such, seldom does the use of sick leave eventuate from any sort of planned absence. It's not as if you can sit down and make up a roster of when everyone is going to be ill.

'The fallout wasn't over though': Amicable divorce goes south when ex-wife gets greedy, she ends up with less

Some people feel like everyone is out to screw them over, probably because they're out to screw everyone else over and assume everyone thinks the way that they do.

As Ralph Waldo Emerson put it, "People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of their character." We project far more of ourselves than we realize when we give our opinion to others; if you think you shouldn't be trusting of other people, you're probably someone who shouldn't be trusted; if you think everyone around you is lazy, maybe you should take a look at yourself first. So much of the world around us works in this way, for, quite simply, our perception shapes our world.

Despite his best efforts to manage an amicable divorce from his ex-wife, this Redditor found himself battling her. She seemed determined to get the better deal, despite already getting a better deal anyways. He decided to play her game and let her work her way into a worse deal than she was already getting in this future classic tale of MC.

'She just thought she could scream her way out of this': Ignorant vacationing Karen runs up 5-figure roaming charges, ignores the only person who can help her

Call center employees have to deal with one bazillion Karens, but this one in particular left the call operator with a huge grin. In the r/talesfromcallcenters subreddit, one brave phone operator shared this tale of stunning ignorance. Maybe if Karen reads this story now, she'll finally understand how badly she botched the math in this equation.

As the OP tells it, this Karen went on vacation and ran up a lot of money in roaming fees. Say you're on a tropical island and you check Facebook – now, you have to pay for the data that you used outside of your home country. It's probably just a few dollars. However, Karen here went to an island and had a scrolling marathon, racking up five figures in roaming fees! Yikes! What what she thinking?

However, Karen was lucky to get to OP on the line. They work for a major cell service provider, and they were really trying to help this woman reduce her massive bill and shrink it to a fraction of the size. People who scream at other people on the phone just don't like to listen, though, even when it's really to their benefit. Your loss, Karen!

‘You Gave the Wrong Employee Demerit Points…’ : New Supervisor Ultimately Gets Himself Fired When He Messes With Invaluable Machinist, Leading to Malicious Compliance and Chaos in Production

It seems like a common theme for new supervisors to enter the workplace with a big bang, having the desire to prove themselves, leading to a quick and sudden change in the status quo. Oftentimes, this isn't necessarily a good thing. Some are as quick to go as they are to come, and this is exactly what happened in this particular case. A foreman joined a company and naively thought he could mess around with one of their oldest employees (a machinist) when giving him demerit points for being ten minutes late (during a snowstorm no less). The foreman had previously tried to get him to do other tasks, and had apparently taken offense when the machinist gave him a firm 'No'.

What the foreman failed to recognize, was that this employee was actually the top and only machinist, who worked a lot of overtime even though it wasn't specifically written in his contract — which he promptly stopped doing when given the points. Chaos ensued along with malicious compliance, as the company began losing big bucks in a short amount of time.

The foreman made his own bed, to say the least. Karma got him good. Scroll down to read what happened. For more petty malicious compliance, check out this neighbor who played the long game of revenge, leading to the foreclosure of the VP of the HOA's home.

'Okay then': Boss takes employee off big project and puts it into incompetent hands, malicious compliance ensues

Sometimes, you know what's best, but your entitled boss simply doesn't. When you find yourself in that scenario, you are faced with two options: 1) you can face your boss head-on and fight it (not worth it); or 2) you can sit back, relax, and watch this disaster unfold.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/staterho, who shared that their boss was threatened by how on top of things they were and wanted to take the original poster off of the upcoming big Holiday project. The trouble is that the person who was then put on the project, Amy, was ill-equipped to handle all of the moving parts. In fairness, it's not Amy's fault that she wasn't capable of handling this. It wasn't within her job description, whereas the Redditor knew exactly how to get it done and get it done well. But alas, their boss was insistent, and so the Redditor chose to comply knowing it was all going to go horribly wrong. Keep scrolling below to learn about the fallout.
