20 'Sunday Scaries' Memes for Weekend Warriors Who Dread Monday Mornings

Ahh, it's Monday morning again. Your coffee is weak, the train was delayed, and you already have 186 unread emails in your inbox– it's gonna be a rough week. But where did the weekend go? Two days of leisure were simply consumed by errands that you had no time for during the week, weren't you supposed to relax at some point? Once again, Saturday morning leaked into Sunday night and now you're trapped in the corporate hellscape known as the Sunday Scaries. It's that feeling you get on Sunday evening when you realize you've squandered your weekend peace, only to be hurled into the folds of the 9-5 nightmare you call employment. Don't worry, work will always be there waiting to pounce on you, but the weekend bliss quickly escapes your grasp like a waif of smoke, dissipating faster the more you attempt to hold onto it. Welp, it's Monday again, so all you can do is try to make it through to Friday once again, spinning on the wheel of time once again.

'I ALWAYS get the front row': Entitled Karen complains to theater usher about having to bend her neck in her front row seat

The things we do to appease the Karens of the world...

This Karen, a frequent theatergoer, was upset to learn that her front row seat required her to bend her neck upward in an uncomfortable way. So, when she approached the usher to complain and remind them that she pays a fortune for these tickets (*eye roll*), the usher looked at the tickets and discovered that she was mistaken. Her seats were actually four rows further back. You would think that this would be a sort of win-win scenario for Karen. She still gets a great seat and she doesn't have to bend her neck. Well, it wasn't enough for her because four rows back meant that she was no longer in the front row. Seriously? You can't have your cake and eat it too, lady!

Boss Says "No Overtime," Shocked When Worker Complies

If you make a demand and expect people to follow it, don't be surprised when they do. That's the takeaway from this story that was shared to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by this disgruntled worker, Redditor u/Local_admin_user. They shared their story to the popular subreddit to share their boss's hypocritical policy of both forbidding and expecting the workers to work overtime.

Too many managers set expectations like this, setting the standard for the working relationship to work when it works for the company but not when it benefits the employee's interests. They'll stick to the "rules" hard and fast until it's convenient for them to suddenly ignore their existence.

Read on for this story of malicious compliance. For more, check out this HR manager who power-tripped on an exiting employee who really didn't want to do their exit interview. The HR manager insisted andposted their story to Malicious Compliance, where readers roasted them.

'That is enraging on OOP's part': Staffer snaps at colleague because of his winter outfit

This workplace definitely needs some lessons on decorum. Originally written in r/TIFU, this OOP shared an embarrassing story that made him feel ashamed of the way he dressed. However, after about a month, the OOP wrote in an update with a pretty satisfying ending.

After working with underprivileged clients, you would think the OOP's coworker would know how to act in a kind and respectful manner towards her clientele. But some people view other folks as beneath them, just because they've fallen on hard times. It's incredibly difficult being homeless — why add another rude human interaction to someone's day? It seems like the woman in this story is unaware or uncaring about how the way she talks to people impacts them, but to continue working in the same line of business, she'd better get her act together fast.

Then, prepare to cringe extremely hard as you read through the tiny conversational mistakes people made a decade ago that are still keeping them awake at night.

'An overpayment has been identified': Former CVS employee receives request to send a check for one cent after overpayment error

You know it's ridiculous when the cost of the request exceeds the actual overpayment! This thread was posted to Reddit's r/CVS subreddit by u/CharacterKatie, a former employee who stopped working at the company last November.

However, these many months later, she received a letter from corporate requiring her to send a check for LITERALLY ONE CENT as a result of the overpayment error. This just goes to show that the whole system itself is screwed. The fact that no one caught the error and thought it would be ridiculous to send this says so much about the checks and balances within the company. If you keep scrolling through the comments below, you'll learn that this is not the first anecdote from a former employee accusing the company of being, well, cheap. At a certain point, you just have to laugh at these people and wonder if they have something, literally anything, better to do.
