Know-it-all part-time waiter insists on inferior method for billing guests, massive queues ensue

Everyone wants to think they have all the answers… but sometimes you don't know even half as much as you'd like to think. We would all do our best to listen to other people's thoughts and opinions before assuming that we have the best and only answer.

This student and part-time waiter made the asinine assumption that his method for charging guests was superior to the method devised by his coworker. After claiming that her methods were making it more difficult for him, he insisted that they revert to doing things by his less efficient method.

He was soon to find out just how inefficient his method was when it quickly resulted in a line out the door.

'They are entitled brats': Teen lets spoiled neighbor kids in her bedroom, immediately regrets it

This teen is scratching their head wondering if they're supposed to share with a neighbor. The limits of neighborly kindness definitely apply here!

This 16-year-old wrote to r/AmItheA**hole, asking about a situation that happened when their young neighbors — and the kids' entitled mom — came to visit. The OP says that they were playing with the kids, ages 7, 9, and 10, when they asked to play in her bedroom. The OP agreed, which might be mistake #1, because the nine year old quickly latched onto their special necklace. Gifted from the OP's cherished uncle, they wear the necklace every day. So they weren't about to give it up just because a bratty child kept demanding it.

But what's really eye-opening is that the kid's mom backed her up! She got into a fight with the OP about it, making them wonder if they were just not "sharing" with their neighbor. In the comments, people sided with the OP, adding that the kid will be affected by her mother's entitlement throughout her own life.

Next up, here are the things that people can't believe are still legal, and hope won't be legal in a few decades.

UPDATE: 'She asked me out': Bartender has chance run in with former bully, who had the nerve to ask him out on a date

This story could be the premise of a rom-com or a revenge flick. It's only one of those two options! This thread and its update were reposted to the r/BestofRedditorUpdates subreddit. After recovering from years of bullying in his childhood, this bartender found himself confronted with a former bully, who apologized profusely while intoxicated at the bar one night before proceeding to ask him out on a date.

After listening to some advice from folks in the comments section from his first post, the original poster decided to agree to coffee with his former bully. She continued to apologize and seemed to show remorse, but folks have plenty of thoughts as to whether or not this dude should consider allowing her to re-enter his life in this way, especially in a romantic capacity. Forgiving and forgetting may be one thing, but he has no obligation to trust her or even entertain the thought of entering a relationship with her. What are your thoughts on this one? Feel free to comment below!

'What's the worst lie you were told as a kid?': 30+ Redditors share the hilarious and stupid things their parents clearly lied about

Parents, you may tell a few little white lies to your kid every now and then… but kids don't always realize you're stretching the truth. These Redditors gathered at r/AskReddit to answer the question, "What's the worst lie you were told as a kid?" The answers range from hilarious to head-scratching, and there's quite a variety of lies, too!

I know several people who believed the "chocolate milk comes from chocolate cows" myth. One person here wrote that their sister had them super convinced that they were gotten from the zoo, while another wrote that their mom said police have X-rays to see if you are strapped in to your seat belt. As a kid, you just believe anything!

AITA: 'He's a deadbeat dad': Mooching husband shames wife and moves out as punishment for taking a weekend to herself after she slaves over 4 children and a full time job without his help

When a couple decides to have children, it's usually an unstated agreement that the children are BOTH adults' responsibility. However, sometimes folks forget that when you rear a human child, it is a ton of work on your own and is a task best suited for both parents to pitch in. Now, when you have 4 kiddos, that is a responsibility that is obviously quadrupled.

One working woman and mother of four kids, recently got into a fight with her deadbeat husband about their shared parenting and Reddit is up in arms about it. As a full time working mother, she struggled to make home cooked meals every night, keep the house clean, and still find time to raise the kids right. Unfortunately for her, she was stuck doing it basically alone because her husband, who works a physical job, believed that his job was harder than hers and entitled him to long naps every day when he got home and he felt like he'd earned time to hang out with his friends. Not only that, but the hubby would bicker and complain when he didn't have a hot meal waiting for him when he got home. Ew.

So one weekend, the woman simply needed a night to herself with her friends. Things went haywire when the husband was required to watch the children all on his lonesome. He screamed, he yelled, and packed his bags. When the wife got home, the house was a mess and the husband walked out immediately. I think it's pretty clear who the AH is here and it's certainly not the woman caring for a grand total of 5 useless, emotional children.

'Did You Block Me?' : Best Dating App Fails of the Week for the Tired Crowd (March 15, 2023)

Raise your hand if you're feeling officially defeated by dating apps and the neverending talking stage (assuming you get that far). I'm seriously fed up with the algorithm. I don't necessarily think that dating apps are a lost cause, I just feel like they are designed to fail us. Tinder is both the best and worst thing that has befallen humanity. It creates distance and connection at the same time. These things occur concurrently.

There are advantages and disadvantages to having technology this advanced. On the one hand, it's harder to approach people in real life, and on the other, our options have expanded drastically. Plus, I don't know about you, but I wasn't all that courageous to begin with. Who would have thought back in the day that we'd be paying to find love? Anyway, scroll down to check out the funniest dating app fails of the week.

'I've been struggling [to afford] food': Worker shares scathing messages from their boss after they recover discarded food from workplace

This manager took issue because one of their workers was taking discarded bread loaves from back-of-house disposal. Anyone who has worked in food service or the service industry has witnessed this at some point: perfectly good food going to the bin just because they can't move the product and donating the food to a shelter would present a "lawsuit risk."

So away it goes, right into the dumpster.

It's always a shame to see all perfectly good food go to waste—even if you have plenty to eat at home. So some managers will allow you to take some with you, but you both know that—if questions are asked… They'll have no idea what anyone is talking about.
