Just throw this one on top of the mountain of reasons not to go to Australia. Unless you love spiders so big they have souls, then go for it. The amazing feature here is that amazingly, no one is screaming about the massive, terrified spider scrabbling around inches above everyone's heads. Regular people get in car accidents because they saw a bee, so the fact that they landed fine with a monster in the cockpit is a testament to that excellent pilot focus everyone's always talking about.

Um, this guy has nerves of literal steel. The way he handles losing his literal engine pretty much escapes what one would think is possible in terms of keeping cool under the awful weight of impending physical doom. Clearly, the guy is going to make a great pilot one day.

Unfortunately, the internet breeds a whole lot of aggressive moments of pure and utterly profound ignorance. Many of us can fall prey to those times when we look to the internet and its collection of definitely unqualified "medical professionals" to provide advice on issues that are definitely in need of medical attention. Maybe these stories will make you feel a bit better about your own mindless moments in the realm of needing/not needing medical advice.

Every person's house is a castle, and sometimes castles get put under siege. Whether it's the neighbor's horrible kid, a random dude who got in during a party, or a brother-in-law who needs to stay for one night for six months, we've all had moments that made us wonder "why do I ever let people in here." The bar never seems to hit rock bottom when it comes to the worst houseguests people have experienced. Sometimes distance isn't even enough in the case of people's worst neighbors.
So, apparently there are some folks out there that define the difference of an extra $40 to be worthy of being deemed "extortionate." Clearly, this husband didn't account for the fact that the person he was giving an earful to on the phone would feel compelled to leave a reminder note about their particularly unpleasant encounter. Suffice to say, when the truth was revealed to his wife, it certainly ended up stinging him a bit.
Some companies can be unreasonable, and there are some occupations out there people are sure no one enjoys. But when you refuse to do the job you agreed to do, and push the responsibility onto your coworkers, there become fewer and fewer questions about who's being impossible. It's not even a dietary restriction thing, it's a having coworkers thing. For some "intriguing" dietary stories, here's an uncle who demanded a meat meal at a vegan wedding and an irrational neighbor who demanded nutless baklava.
Like anyone else, our best years are behind us. Or at least they seem that way, since human beings are pretty much psychologically incapable of remembering things accurately. We all want to look back at our VHS tapes and dangerous toys and say that's when we had it all figured out or "young people could never understand this," but in the end it's really just a way of dating yourself. But hey, that's nostalgia, baby.
It's always good to have a reminder that your brain is dumb and can be tricked with a really minor adjustment of perspective. The reality is that all of us have a hard time completing our jobs successfully at one point or another. We're only human, after all. Fail is always lurking right around the corner. You just hope that your moment of forgetfulness and the failure that results doesn't end up looking like a whole branch of a bank being left open for any criminal to cruise in and take a crack at cracking open that safe. Of course this is the internet, and people are always searching for new ways to drive their clout up. Maybe this is staged.
