'I got my neighbor evicted': Grad student snitches on his noisy neighbor to the HOA, getting him evicted as revenge for ruining his peace

Nobody likes an unreasonably noisy neighbor. Renters with thin walls and even thinner patience have struggled for millennia against inconsiderate neighbors and there's a point that they start to think that the neighborhood is simply improved with the surgical removal of disruptive folks. One grad student spent one too many sleepless nights with rage in his heart that he finally took (semi unethical) action against his neighbor, willing a small victory over the boisterous guy who cost him the best grades in class.

OP lived in an apartment next door to a serial TV-watcher of the worst variety: music blaring, entertainment at all hours of the night, and his volume turned to maximum. Not only that, but it seemed like this noise maker had a hankering for the cool night air, because he also left all of his windows open so that the entire neighborhood could enjoy the sounds of whatever TV show he was binging. OP asked him several times to turn it down, in an attempt to gain a study-worthy zen in his house again, but the neighbor didn't relent.

Finally OP snapped and went straight to the powers that be: their HOA. OP knew that weed was illegal in their complex and despite being a smoker himself, decided to get revenge on his neighbor for all those sleepless nights and relentless tunes. Scroll for the full story on how this grad student quickly turned sour against a noisy neighbor, actually committing a cardinal sin in order to save the apartment complex from noise.

'[You] accused them of stealing THEIR OWN PACKAGE': Neighbors squabble over cats, dogs, and stolen packages, then one neighbor involves police

Some neighbors will never see eye to eye. This woman told her story expecting people to take her side of the argument, but instead, commenters told her she was totally in the wrong.

As this woman explained in a post to r/AmItheA**hole, she and her next door neighbors have been "pretty much at odds since day one." She writes that they've had tons of disagreements over issues large and small. One of those is the OP's three cats, who are let into her backyard and then get chased around by the neighbor's dog. They also disagreed on fencing, which the neighbor asked the OP to help pay for, as well as taking down an old tree on both their properties.

However, the more the OP tells in the story, the more she sounds like the bad neighbor. Her go-to move is to call up the police for every little thing. After you check out this story, click here for a petty revenge story that was two years in the making.

'It's not like this impacted him in any way': Teen loses job after parent schedules non-negotiable vacation time for him

For some reason, this parent thinks that their son's first job isn't important at all. A first job is a big deal, though, and clearly this person's kid thought so too.

In a post to r/AmItheA**hole, a parent called u/Educational_Gur_2679 asked if they were really in the wrong for a situation with their kid and his job. Like many teens, this 16-year-old got a part-time lifeguarding gig. And additionally, he's located in Florida, so that's a job that will be available year round.

The teen asked for some time off to take a family vacation, but his boss denied it. The reasons don't seem personal, but he hadn't been there long enough to have earned time off yet. The OP took personal offense to that anyway. They insisted their son still go on the vacation, which left him fuming. Check out the story below to see whose side you're on… although commenters were clearly against the OP.

‘[She] prioritizes jealousy over what’s best for the kids’: Toxic mom gets chewed out online for her immature actions after divorce

Divorce is never easy, especially when children are involved. When it is just a break up, it is still one of the most stressful situations you will go through. But then add kids into the mix and your feelings are not the top priority in this stressful situation anymore, the kids' are. You might be losing a partner, but your children are losing their childhood wonderment of having that picturesque happy family. So it is very important to help the children out the best you can during the divorce.

That seems like pretty common knowledge though, right? Unfortunately, no. One toxic mother took to Reddit to try and get her entitlement and immature actions during the divorce and custody battle vindicated. However, Redditors were NOT having it. Not one person came to the toxic mother's aid, because she was clearly in the wrong. In fact, many were shocked at how she didn't see how immature she was being herself. Commenters made sure to thoroughly explain how she was being the a-hole in this situation and they actually side with the step-mom and now ex-husband in this situation. Read the story and see for yourself below.

'It smells like fish': 25 Restaurant red flags diners should watch out for

You shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but these folks have some surefire ways to tell if a restaurant is quality or not.

I actually have a true story about this that you can totally judge me for. One time, I was in Harlem, volunteering to paint homes in an area I had never been before. I had to get lunch somewhere, so I stopped in a corner store and bought a BLT. I hung out in the store, and as the person behind the counter handed me the sandwich, I saw a cockroach crawling inside the glass container where the lunch meats were kept. My soul left my body momentarily (I'm very afraid of cockroaches).

Me and the cook made eye contact, but being socially awkward and conflict averse, I just paid for my sandwich and left. I debated whether I should eat this sandwich or not, but I figured New York has millions of roaches and rodents, both seen and unseen, and I was so hungry after painting walls for several hours. It was actually one of the best BLTs I've ever had. But I did eat it with the uneasy feeling that there were probably so many more roaches at that place that just hadn't made themselves known.

Anyway, you can totally judge a restaurant by lots of these standards below, but you really just have to try the food a few times to know if positives outweigh the negatives. And most of these are very helpful — in general, you really shouldn't eat anywhere that you can see bugs, or where the floor is dirty, or where the menus have stock photos instead of actual pictures of the meals.
