It sounds like the Aunt was in the wrong on this one. Basically, the aunt was carrying out just the kind of behavior that ended up being very embarrassing for herself. Some people respond better to the swift and brutal reality checks than others. Plus, it sounds like this environment/timing might've been a bit dicey. With all of that being said, folks in the comments section seemed to be in agreement that the aunt getting called out was completely called for.
