'[I'm] not going to waste my manager's time on a complaining Karen': Waiter stands up for solo diner who finds himself stuck in the middle of a classic Karen conundrum

When we say "Karen conundrum," we're being nice. Any situation that warrants the person to be called a Karen (and not because that is their actual name), means that the situation is one of the most annoying and tiresome situations. When you get deemed a Karen, it isn't because you look like your name might be Karen, it is because you are acting like an entitled grown child who is quite literally too old to be throwing this kind of toddler-aged tantrum.

Too often do people in the service industry have to deal with Karens. It's as if it comes with the territory. Karens tend to feel empowered with entitlement when they're in a restaurant, probably because they are being waited on. But just because you have someone serving you food and refreshments, does not mean you are entitled to any of it. So what do you do in these sorts of godawful annoying situations? There are many different approaches, but one man recently experienced one where the server came in to save the day!

He was dining alone and was sat a 2-top table. He set his stuff down on the table before ordering and ran to the bathroom to wash his hands. When he came back, his table was gone and his stuff was on the floor. Confused, he looked up at the table next to the pile of his stuff on the floor, and sees that a woman had grabbed his table and extra chair to connect to their table of a large party. He approached the woman and said that he was using that table, he had just gone to wash his hands. She did not care. He tried to reason with her, but, as you know, Karens gonna Karen. So instead, a waiter came over to help with the situation.

The waiter was being non-bias and trying to see it from both POVs, but they quickly realized who the Karen was in this situation. The nail was really hit on the head when the Karen delivered the classic line, "I want to speak to your manager." The heroic server was doing being impartial, and confidently told the Karen that he wasn't going to waste his managers time with a "complaining Karen" and then told her she either give back the table and chair or she and her party can dine somewhere else. After a stare down between the two, the Karen conceded and was put in her place. The man got his table back and peace was once again restored. Read the entire story below.

Update: 'We are taking a break.': Wife beats insecure husband on online IQ test, it ends their relationship

Talk about the fragility of some people's egos. If your entire ego is built around feeling superior to your partner in intelligence, and that superiority can be shattered by something as innocuous as a phony online IQ test—well, quite frankly, you deserve however that makes you feel—you totally set yourself up for that one. (Especially when you were the one insisting that your wife take it.)

Online exams of any type are useless—unless they're to find out which Disney princess you are. Sure, they're fun, but that's about where it starts and ends. If you want to draw any significant conclusions from cognitive examination, it should be administered by a professional, and—even then—IQ tests aren't exactly an exact science.

Still, this insecure husband had his entire worldview shattered when his wife beat him on an online IQ test after he insisted she take it. Undoubtedly, he was expecting to trounce her, which really just goes to support the fact that dumb people tend to wildly overestimate their abilities.

See the two threads below, with the original appearing first, followed by an update the wife shared two days later. Next, see this husband who wanted to split the couple's lottery jackpot with his best friend.

'Ham in [my] public school lunch is just frozen in a block of ice': 25 Strange school lunches that left students still hungry

The cafeteria chefs who cook for public school kids are doing a very important job, but the meals they serve up can sometimes miss the mark.

I want to take this opportunity to use my platform to talk about Italian dunkers. These were a top tier lunch food, and as a very picky child, it was my saving grace. These Italian dunkers were basically just mozzarella cheese sticks wrapped inside dough, but they tasted heavenly. Looking back, giving an 8-year-old four cheese sticks for lunch with a side of milk and an apple feels like an odd choice, but it kept me going. I know there's an unfortunate looking hot dog in the mix of photos here. Hot dogs were a great choice too, although I wish my school would have taken them out of the hot dog water before serving them up (making the hot dog bun quite soggy).

If you've been through the public school system, you know that the fine lunchroom staff have a limited budget to make food for hundreds or even thousands of kids. It may not always be the best food, but it is a meal, and sometimes that's what really counts. It's better to have a lunch that's just meh, rather than be falling asleep in every class because you're so hungry.

Speaking of food, this woman went to r/AmItheA**hole to ask an important question: was she wrong for telling her SIL that she dislikes her "famous" mac and cheese?

20+ Funny Office Pranks To Pull On Annoying Coworkers

Some of these pranks took major dedication. If I had the kind of follow-through that these folks had, I would definitely go as far as these people. I mean, if one can barely get through one's work tasks each day, how does one find the time to play a prank on one's annoying coworkers?

However, if I could find that time and motivation, I'd be taking lots of inspiration from these Redditors, who shared their office pranks via this r/AskReddit thread. Some of these pranks include the classic "stapler in Jell-O" move, but we also have my personal favorite which is taking a screenshot of your coworker's desktop, hiding all the folders from view, and making the background the screenshot. You'll have your coworker clicking on that screenshots and stuck in a state of complete confusion for at least five minutes.

Moments like this can add some unexpected joy to office dynamics, but they can also add to friction. Perhaps you don't care and you're ready to start a fight with Karen from Communications. Or perhaps you're surrounded by a bunch of bored employees who merely need something entertaining to fill their days. Regardless of what your situation is, if you're looking to pull a prank on someone in the office, this list is for you. 'Not an emergency situation, sorry': Local Karen throws tantrum after no one pulled over when she put on her hazard lights, gets dragged online

We love when local Karens make up rules for the whole community to follow that simply do not exist. It's as if they live in their own tiny little universe where every thought that comes into their brain is not only factual but law. We've seen this situation transpire before with Karens involved in HOAs or neighbors who have ridiculous standards and procedures for everyone else to follow.

In this scenario, which was posted to Reddit's r/F***YouKaren subreddit, we have a Karen whose daughter was going into labor in a city about 45 minutes away. She was driving to the hospital to meet her there and to our knowledge, there didn't seem to be any complications with the pregnancy or any unusual emergency. However, Karen believed that her drive to meet her perfectly healthy daughter warranted the decision to turn on her hazard lights and to expect everyone driving on the roads in her community to pull over to the side and get the heck out of her way.

Now, she's not a police officer or an EMT, and as we said, there didn't seem to be any unique emergency or complication going on. She just suffered from Main Character Syndrome and expected all things to revolve around her. The best part is that she framed the whole situation through a generational context, so of course, there were a few other Karens in this community Facebook group who backed her up on this. However, it did not take long for people to call Local Karen out on her ridiculous "rule."

‘I messed with their exams’: Tenant gets even with student neighbors during exam period, logs their devices off internet router, then eats their pizza

A lot of people go to study abroad, whether it's because their dream school happens to be halfway across the world, or because they'd like to get out of the little town they're in for a chance at a fresh start, or maybe just to soak in some culture that isn't their own. In this case, u/Lukus-Galaktikus was enjoying his time in a foreign country, studying and making new friends. He lived in an apartment building that was full of other foreign students and got along fine with everybody. That is, until some new tenants moved in, and thus began a series of unfortunate events that led to some sweet, petty revenge between students.

These new neighbors came to OP with plenty of different requests, some of which began to slightly annoy him. Eventually, one of them asked OP to use his internet while he was setting up his own. OP agreed but quickly regretted his decision, as he found out that his neighbor was basically handing out his internet password to lots of different people, none of whom had OP's blessing to use his internet.

During this time, OP was also getting lots of pizzas delivered to his door, despite making it clear to his neighbors that they were using the wrong address for pizza delivery. They were getting food at all kinds of weird hours, and OP finally had had enough. Scroll down to read about the way he got even with his irresponsible neighbors. The moral of the story… don't mess with Uni students!

For more like this, here is a company that lost some pretty big clients after they fired the wrong employee. Tsk, tsk. When will management learn?
