30 Otherworldly musical instruments that look like glitches in the matrix

These musicians have taken their craft to the next level. These instruments are custom made to be large, twisty, or otherwise weird-looking. It's not every day that you get to see a guitar with dozens of strings, or a drum so big you need to stand on a ladder to play it properly.

Why do people make these quirky instruments? You'd have to ask them yourself, but presumably they like to push the bounds of what's been created already, as well as produce some completely unique sounds from their newly formed instrument. I'm a big fan of instruments that just look kind of silly as well, like the performer holding a gigantic triangular guitar. The sky's the limit with these things, whether their creators are joining two instruments together or just pushing the limits of how many strings one guitar can hold.

After you check out these quirky instruments, check out this boss, who reminded their employee that they aren't an office manager. So that employee shrugged their shoulders and stopped managing the office

Top 10 Choosing Beggars of the Week (July 20, 2023)

Desperate times may call for desperate measures, but some of these choosing beggars are really reaching...

We've got a wide range of them for this week's edition of the Top Choosing Beggars. Some of these scenarios include a wedding day Uber pool, a dude who wants a free lawyer to sue just about everyone under the sun, and various job postings with little to no pay. We even have a saga involving a wannabe equestrian photographer with no talent and a whole lot of audacity.

If these stories serve as any indication, it may take a special kind of desperate person to boldly make demands online, but these people seem to come out in droves all over the Internet. So why is it that the choosing beggars of the world tend to be their ridiculous selves online? Perhaps it's the seemingly harmless anonymity of the Internet or the distance that comes with making these kinds of demands through online messaging and not face-to-face. Because sure if this was in-person, these folks would know better.

Keep scrolling for this week's collection of the top 10 choosing beggars. When you're finished, here are this week's top Karens!

Tenant Gets £2000 Stolen When the Landlord Gives Burglars a Key to Her Apartment; the Whole Internet Rallies to Bring Justice

Getting robbed is a traumatizing experience. Not only was the privacy of your home violated, but there's also a sense of trust in humanity that gets extinguished. In this case, a tenant who had had it with their living situation was on the verge of moving out when her landlord did the unthinkable. In a lazy attempt to show prospective renters the property, the landlord gave out copies of his tenant's apartment key to random strangers, trusting that they'd respect her property… The did not.

The terribleness of human nature prevails when stupidity like this rears its ugly head and unfortunately, the tenant in this situation was the one who took the punishment. So instead of performing simple landlordian duties like a respectable landlord, this guy took the easy way out and cost his tenant almost everything. Scroll for the full story on how one woman reached her breaking point when her landlord gave out her house key, her home was robbed, and she lost nearly £2000 of property to clever burglars. 'Close them completely': Manager demands bathrooms are closed while cleaned, chaos ensues

A good bathroom is an essential part of any business where food and beverages are being served. After all, there is a… certain connection between consuming things and the inevitable need to make use of one. This is especially true when you're operating a cafe—as coffee is specifically known for its ability to get things moving.

Now, a good bathroom isn't going to necessarily make a good business—but it might break one. The last thing you want your customers to associate your establishment with is feelings of discomfort and humiliation—two feelings that often result from not being able to make a visit to the room of resting when required.

This employee shared their experience of having their boss demand that the bathrooms be closed completely after a regular customer had a close call slipping on a wet floor (despite proper signage being posted.) In a controversial move, the employee maliciously complied with their boss's order and closed the bathrooms completely, causing chaos within the establishment.

'[He] doesn't understand the consequences': Boss demands IT worker shut down company emails all weekend, quickly regrets locking himself out

Every worker at this company had a peaceful weekend after their boss cut off everyone's email access

This boss reminds me of cats who really want to go outside when it's raining, so you don't let them out. When they finally get you to let them out, they immediately get drenched and want to come back inside. They'll look at you with this squint of anger, but of course, it's the cat's fault. Basically, some lessons are learnt the hard way because you can't anticipate the consequences of your actions.

U/Lucyiha worked in the IT field at a bank, where she was responsible for numerous levels of support for admin. She notes that all of her job duties don't mean that she's well paid — in fact, her boss brags about her "getting so much money for basically doing nothing." As if that wasn't infuriating enough, the OP's weekends are spent monitoring for server issues, since they could happen at any time.

Everything changed when the big boss told this IT professional that in order to give his employees a break [read: not pay them overtime]. Instead of working on weekends, he decided the best solution would be to cut off the email access to absolutely everybody. Yes, everybody, and crucially, he demands no exceptions to the rule. Maybe you already know where this is heading… scroll down to check out this great story.

‘Enjoy the rest of your ride': Man gets even with passenger on train ride who signals him to ‘shush’ after being requested that he speak on the phone elsewhere

Riding the train isn't half as bad as taking the bus, but even then you can meet some pretty colorful characters… you know the type. Rude and entitled, these passengers seem to have some kind of personal vendetta against you, which isn't possible, considering you don't even know them. In this case, OP was on a 4-hour train ride, in a small compartment, with a due wearing a business suit who had a snotty air about him. The dude kept taking phone calls, talking loudly for a long time, biding his time as the train ride progressed. OP was getting more and more annoyed, thinking how this person needed a lesson or two in manners but didn't do anything. That is until the dude initiated a phone call himself.

As in, the dude deliberately decided that OP had to listen to even more of his conversations. OP then asked the dude nicely to take these calls in the corridor, but the only reply OP got from him was a stumpy little finger and a 'shush'. Enough was enough… petty revenge was now on the table. To find out how OP carried out his own petty payback, scroll down. For more, here is a carpenter who refused to accept a promotion, then quit, taking $45,000 worth of tools with him.
