A Collection Of Memes For Employees Working Overtime Due to Wages Crawling at a Snail's Pace

From rent to groceries to a measly cup of coffee, prices have been soaring through the roof, and the people suffering because of it sure aren't the rich. Ladies and gents, welcome to the 21st century, where buying a house is literally impossible, TikTok is all the rage, and social media is considered a job. It's frustrating to keep working at a place you feel underappreciated at, and even more so when the cost of living is galloping ahead while wages are crawling at a snail's pace.

Everyone is going on and on about how 'nobody wants to work these days', but the truth is, maybe people would if they could afford a vacation once a year. Isn't that what vacation days are for? Below you'll find a collection of memes that perfectly portray how burned out we all are. For more like this, you can check out last week's collection of coworker memes.

'I lost my patience': Micromanaging boss forced to resign after employee writes anonymous reviews about him

"He honestly didn't do much besides hover, bring bad energy and make terrible suggestions," this employee writes in a captivating story about their irritating former boss. As u/RahbinGraves told to r/ProRevenge, they didn't care for their bossy manager's behavior. The OP writes that they were working at a hardware store making a pretty low wage, yet still doing a lot for the company. It sounds like they were doing the work of multiple employees by implementing a new program that would help customers. Things were going pretty smoothly for the OP and their coworker who was a designer. But then their new assistant manager, Devin, stepped in. And he only managed to make things worse for everyone around him.

Too many managers just think they have something to prove, and want to have something to show for it by bossing around their employees or demanding changes to the workflow. At least there's justice in this story — it seems like Devin got the unhappy ending he deserved.

Next, check out another story: this dude got locked out of a ride share car, and unfortunately for him, his luggage and pet cat were still inside

'I told my manager, "You need me, I don't need you"': Cashier refuses to sign papers during meeting with bosses

One cashier is living every working person's dream: telling their boss exactly what they think about them.

If you've been paying attention at all for the past few years, I don't have to tell you that stores everywhere are very short staffed. Even at the grocery store, where the OP of this story works, you often see long lines at the checkout, and sometimes shelves with minimal products. Although it seems like everywhere is hiring, some places will just always have a high turnover rate.

u/TAbademployee asked r/AmItheA**hole if she was wrong after this incredible confrontation with her boss. The OP explained that she began a job at a grocery store, and after taking on a full time role, her boss sat her down for a "documented discussion." Management was ready to berate the OP about her behavior, which was apparently bad enough to warrant such a serious discussion. But this woman is a smart cookie, and she flat out told her boss exactly what she felt was the real situation.

Next up, check out these unfortunately designed shirts that no one would want to wear.

'My boss cut my salary in half': Employee demoted despite having to do the same tasks and responsibilities, internet reacts

It doesn't get more insulting than this. This employee hadn't received a performance review despite having worked at his small firm for over four years. On the day of said review, the other coworkers in the office were told to leave early. That was the first red flag right there! When the meeting finally happened, the Redditor learned that they were being demoted despite being tasked with the exact same responsibilities. To make matters worse, their salary would be cut in half.

OP accepted the offer for infuriating reasons you can read about below. He did manage to advocate for a check-in after a month in the new position. However, now that it has been a month and no such check-in has occurred, it's time for this employee to start seriously considering looking for another job. When that job comes, he should definitely leave without notice.

'I was horrified… [I told] people not to eat the food at my sister's wedding': Mom freezes food from youngest daughter's wedding to serve at oldest daughter's wedding 8 months later

Nothing causes a wedding fail more than bad food. It's like a cruise, if the food is bad, it is going to make everyone sick. Is that what you want at your wedding? For everyone to be throwing up during the toasts? We didn't think so! However, something that seems to be a common thread between boomer parents and their kids is when food is inedible. Boomers have lived through some hard times, so their view on food going bad is a little more loosey goosey than millennials and Gen Z. They will freeze, defrost, refreeze, and reheat things over and over again until it's gone. Maybe their stomachs are like steel and can handle that, but many millennials now suffer from tummy issues, so like, was it worth it, dad??

Recently, a woman posted a horrifying wedding buffet situation. She and her husband got married 8 months ago. They had ordered extra food, for they had a big wedding, and intended to donate any leftovers to a soup kitchen. However, at the end of their wedding, there wasn't a lot of food leftover. So they just carried on with their lives. However, the missing food came back to haunt them 8 months later at her older sister's wedding.

The wedding was a small wedding and the bride and groom had already been dating for a decade. They didn't even want to have a wedding, but the bride's mother insisted, so she left it up to her to arrange. Everything was beautiful until the food was served. The younger sister discovered where her missing food had gone. Her mother told her she had taken it and froze it for EIGHT MONTHS. Then reheated it and served it at her sister's wedding.

She was horrified and immediately told her older sister, the bride, who was also horrified. They warned people not to eat the food and that was that. The wedding was still nice, but some of the older family members were upset that the younger sister ratted out the mom for serving old food. What do you think? Read it all below!
