TikToker Goes Viral for Sharing His Day-to-Day Life Running a Motel in NJ & Creating a "Free Room" Program

Motels might look like scary places in the movies, but this TikToker is showing you IRL it can be a welcoming place.

Misguided Tech Bro Tells Coworker She's Too "Attractive" and "Exotic," Surprised She's Upset

This misguided tech bro attempted to lend a helping hand to a junior female developer and tried to educate her on the reasons why her coworkers were having issues engaging with her. However, he failed to help when his contribution mostly entailed pointing out how "attractive" and "exotic" she was.

He then took to the internet, posting on Reddit's r/AITA (Am I the A**hole) subreddit to see whether or not he had been in the wrong for his comments. The internet was squarely against him and went as far as to say that he had "fetishized her." They tore him a new one to the point that he felt it necessary to delete his original post to bury the evidence.

One thing is for sure… If you're going to go out of your way to pointedly comment on a female junior's attractiveness and make casually racist comments about her ethnicity then HR is not going to be your biggest fan…

What's your take? Is this guy as big of a tool cabinet as Reddit thinks he is?

"You Had One Job" Moments of Occupational Nincompoopery

Work is a thankless task. Unless you count a steady paycheck as thanks. In that sense, getting to sleep in a home and buy things is pretty cool. But other than that, totally thankless. And when your job lacks just the right amount of oversight, it's pretty easy to make mistakes. Even if it's literally your one job to dot the "i"s and cross the "t"s, you're bound to confuse them every once in a while, and no one wants to look at great big bouncing itiites. Don't even ask what happened to the guy who minded the "p"s and "q"s.

So let's take an opportunity to celebrate the ones who totally screwed up. They deserve their thanks at least for making the world a more interesting, if also slightly more incomprehensible place.

People screw up on the job a lot. Here are some "not my job" moments of unprofessional absurdity.

Dude Wants Partner To Foot The $30K Bill For His Spoiled Daughter's Trip, Gets Denied

Entitled rich people's kids are cancer. Or they're at least as expensive.

Anyway, this woman decided to send her own son on a vacation, and her boyfriend's daughter decided that that wasn't fair, so she demanded an even more expensive one. Her enabling dad, who is apparently afraid of upsetting the siphon he raised, is asking his long term partner to help him scrape together enough cash to send her on this expedition, which ironically costs about as much as a Ford Expedition.

What resulted was a conversation about who owes what to whom in a blended family. The thing is, it's not like she needs emergency medical treatment, needs money for school, or is starting a business or whatever. She just wants to go to Europe "to make things fair" on an amount of money that would make most people literally poop their pants, buy new pants, then poop them again.

What a world. Here are some more wild cases of wealthy people being out of touch.

Employee Gets Suspended For Taking Time Off To Put His Dog Down, Never Goes Back

It's not uncommon that we have to make choices between being at work and living our actual lives. But often times, managers don't seem to understand that anyone's social or emotional life outside of work means anything at all. The long answer is that certain jobs press every employee into a high pressure system that rewards middle management for using any means necessary to keep employees working, no matter what's going on in their personal lives. But the short answer is that this manager is a dick.

OP made the decision to be with their dog on her final day, much to the chagrin of their boss, who felt like that kind of decision doesn't show loyalty to the employer. But seriously, what kind of loyalty can one expect to have to a place that pays them minimum wage in exchange for the opportunity to get punished for caring about their dog.

For another manager who didn't get that people have meaningful lives, here's a firefighter who called into a mandatory off-hours meeting during an active fire to make a point.

Top Tinder Moments of the Week (May 2, 2022)

This week's top Tinder moments are brought to you by the wild world of online dating.

This week we have a slew of overly-forward individuals who might benefit from reigning it in a little bit. But they're going to be the least of your problems when you're trying to decide who to swipe right or left… At least they're telling you what they actually want. Some of these other people might require an exorcism. Seriously, what the heck is going on with the fish Gollum-Girl profile? We need to have a little bit more context on that one. Like, did she actually put a fresh fish in her mouth just for a bit? If so, that's a level of dedication we can't imagine having.

Speaking of dedication, that chick who can only respond with one-word answers could stand to have a little more of it. It's so infuriating when someone has willfully engaged with you (swiping right) and then refuses to actually do the "engaging" part. Just don't swipe right, ya know?

Scroll on down for this week's selection and check out last week's entry when you're all good and wrapped up.
