Worker Gets Wrongly Fired, Takes Entire International Division Down With Him

Holy smokes this might be one of the longest stories we have ever seen come out of Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit. It also might be one of the best-told stories we have ever seen come out of the platform.

This story was posted by Reddit user u/Warrior044 who shared an intricate and detailed account of when they were threatened to be fired by their boss' boss. They had been working for a massive American corporation that had various international divisions that were based in other countries.

In a lengthy introduction, u/Warrior044 describes how they were responsible for the operation of a machine that was relatively simple to operate but "immensely important" to the operations of the facility. The team operating the machine was marred by the presence of one incompetent individual, who also happened to be friends with the boss. Their incompetence would cause a series of cascading events that would bring the entire division down.

Guy Gives Friend a Bad Job Referral After Friend Ghosts Him

If you want to use someone as a job reference, it's probably best not to treat them like used garbage beforehand. Or is that just us?

This guy was "best" friends with his partner in crime before uncomfortable vulnerability drove a wedge in their relationship. The poster of the topic describes that he felt as if the two had grown close enough that he could open up to his friend more. He tried his "absolute best not to trauma dump," but something in what he said scared his friend away.

What is it with us guys and being completely uncomfortable with sharing (or having shared with us) the fact that one of us is not having a good time? It's such an insanely toxic thing; I've had friends who were clearly suffering and dealing with something but were utterly unable to open up. I've had friends I had no idea were dealing with demons.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AITA by the friend who was ghosted, Redditor u/evanaugh. He's wondering if he was in the wrong for giving this "friend" a bad reference.

All I have to say to that is this: Look, man, if he's not friend enough to help you deal with your problems, then he wasn't a friend. Friends stick by you and help you even when things are tough.

I mean, one thing is for sure; You won't be able to tell a recruiter that he was dependable or loyal.

Thread Exposes Shady Scam Practice Used By Debt Collectors and Banks

It's almost hard to believe that a (mostly) credible financial institution could resort to such predatory practices but the unfortunate thing is that it happens all of the time.

Something similar happened to me with one of the top medical institutions in the state where I grew up. Turns out, they had hidden fees that they charged into an "account" under your name every time you went for a visit. (This was in addition to the copay I had to make for my insurance.) They didn't tell you about these fees or notify you that you had a balance that needed to be paid when you went into a visit. The only way I ever would have noticed was if I had created and logged into an account on their website. I had no idea until I started receiving letters from a debt collection agency, which I was so confused about I was certain was a scam. So if that can happen with a respected organization just imagine what else is going on out there.

Anyways we came upon this thread while perusing the internet and thought it was a great read. See below for screenshots.
