'The power of Karen compels you': Brainless Karen hilariously ends up supporting metal band she hates after purchasing a ticket to silently protest from the front row (video)

We have not stopped laughing from this video. Wow, Karens can be SO brainless. If their childish tantrums didn't already prove to you that not much is going on up in their head, then this situation will solidify it. A metal band was playing a show and a Karen bought a ticket to the show just so she could stand in the front row shaking her head disapprovingly and holding her arms up as a cross towards them… LOL

Not only did she just support the band by giving them her money when she bought a ticket to the show, she ALSO is making them look hella cool. Like, what metal band doesn't want to upset Karens? That is the true essence of their anti-societal music! Rock on, whoever this band is! We wholeheartedly approve. You don't even have to be a metalhead to enough this video. It's only about a minute and a half long, but it is so worth it. And the COMMENTS that people are leaving on reddit with this video are just *chef's kiss* priceless comedy

Watch the ridiculousness for yourself below and read the funniest comments people left!

'It is my turn to be selfish': 20 Wedding and Bridezilla Fails

Weddings seem to be trendy at the moment, which means the bridezillas of the world are emerging. The thing about bridezillas is they come in many shapes, sizes, and personalities. From personal experience, there are the bridezillas that you always knew would be bridezillas, the ones you think will be bridezillas who turn out to be shockingly fine, and the bridezillas who you never would have expected would be bridezillas. The latter, of course, is the most shocking breed of bridezilla.

For the purposes of this post, we also want to acknowledge that we are using bridezilla as a gender-neutral term despite the term's history and implications because, as I have also seen from personal experience, I have witnessed some pretty frantic, anxious, crazy grooms in my lifetime. So, before you keep scrolling to take a look at these wedding fails, let's remind ourselves that anyone can be entitled, selfish, and crazy. When you're finished scrolling, check out these introvert memes and fails.

'Are they just [THAT] afraid of confrontation': Millennial boss sparks discussion about "ghost quitting" and whether it's a Gen Z thing or a minimum wage job thing

Have you ever started working a job that you quickly realized you did not enjoy and wanted to peace out as fast as possible from? You can't usually do this with big fancy jobs, but something like you just got hired at a fast-food restaurant or some retail shop? It's pretty easy to just leave after lunch and ghost. One millennial manager reached out to Reddit on r/smallbusiness asking if any other managers were experiencing this thing she called "ghost quitting" and if it was a generational thing—she specifically contributed it to Gen Z.

The small business owner seems to run a pretty smoother operation. She pays competitive wages, has very flexible scheduling, no early mornings or late nights, and many of her employees have been working for her for several years—one has even been there for over 15 years! So she cannot understand why multiple times now she hires a new employee and they simply ghost, no two-weeks notice or even a simply "I quit" note. As a small business, she checks in on the well-being of all her employees, so when they ghost quit like that it is upsetting and she has even come close to filling a missing persons report.

This has happened to this millennial manager only by Gen Z, so she wonders if it is just something that generation does because they are afraid to face any sort of confrontation. However, in a shocking turn of events, millennials and Gen X have come to an agreement and DON'T blame the Gen Z. They say it is simply a low wage job-thing. If it is a job that is hardly paying them enough to live off of, then many people simply don't want to give anymore effort and that includes the effort of going through the professional steps of quitting.

We are still shocked that millennials and Gen X are in agreement. Check out  below what they had to say and read how some of them even "ghost quit" themselves back in the day.

'He scanned his card at my till': Insanely entitled dude tries to steal guy's supermarket fuel rewards points in daring heist

It's no secret that entitled people consider themself to be immune to the social courtesies and rules that the rest of us follow. They think that an action is just fine as long as it gets them ahead.

There are your bulk-standard entitled acts, and then there are extremely petty acts like this. There's such a minor benefit to be had in a "grocery store fuel rewards heist" that it's especially insane to undertake that behavior. Like, bro, you're really going to steal my $0.05/gallon fuel discount? That's worth flouting social norms over?

Go rob a casino or something with your ten closest friends and get some real money.

Redditor u/Bungee-Cord-Thrwaway shared their story of running into an entitled individual at their local supermarket. Shockingly, according to the store manager and grocery workers who responded in the comments, this behavior is incredibly common.

Update! 'I finally left [nightmare] workplace': Overworked IT employee shares how their final two weeks went at their toxic job after epically quitting

When you are working in a toxic place, nothing is ever easy—that especially includes quitting. You either quit burning all the bridges behind you or you grit your teeth and try to leave in a way that keeps your professional status, even though your toxic managers and coworkers are making it super difficult. One IT employee needed to quit their toxic job, so they did just that. However, their last two week there were worst than heII. This was a long saga (see Part 1 and Part two) about quitting a very toxic work environment

After she put in her two weeks, her bosses immediately started bulling her into taking a consulting position. Maybe if she wasn't so miserable with them she would have done it, but she needed to get away from their toxicity asap so she refused. They kept bullying her and even tried threatening her with lawyers, but she stayed strong. She said it was the worst two weeks of her life, but she was finally able to leave! She is even considering blocking all her contacts from that job.

Read the entire ordeal and epic exit below.

'He tried to ruin my chances': Employee poached by new company with double the salary, old boss calls company and tries to sabotage employee

Moral of the story: don't give your boss more information than what's necessary. In this case, this employee made the mistake of telling his boss the name of the company that poached him with an enticing offer of double the salary. The employee wasn't even looking for another job, but as they say in The Godfather, it was an offer he couldn't refuse.

So what happened after he gave two weeks and mistakenly revealed the name of the new company to his now former boss? Well, that boss literally called up the Redditor's new boss and tried to sabotage his chances. Luckily, nothing materialized and the Redditor's new job was completely safe, but if I were him, I would leave the old job immediately no matter how many days of those two weeks have passed. Many folks in the comments suggest the same thing. He doesn't owe his former boss anything, especially after that nonsense.

30+ Graffiti goobers who couldn't resist some silly little vandalism

These amateur graffiti artists simply couldn't resist tweaking ordinary signs to be much funnier.  Life is boring if you don't infuse art and chaos into it. These people below had a little too much fun doing some mild vandalism. No one is harmed by a few stickers or funny notes, after all!

Is remote work going away?: Manager demands remote worker keeps camera on and pointed at their face for all hours worked

How are we supposed to work in our PJs with this Karen manager eyeballing us the whole time?

‘I contacted the BSA, which led to the company’s demise': Boss refuses to pay employee for labor, employee contacts BSA as revenge, leading to company's financial destruction

Every company is, and rightfully should be, afraid of the alliance of software publishers, otherwise known as the 'BSA'. Their job is to properly enforce licensing, and they do so with pure vigor. This boss did not take a fed-up 'employee' into account when he refused to pay him his wages. The employee in question ran a small IT consulting company of his own and was convinced into doing a job for a software company his friend worked for. This is where the 'boss' came into play. OP did the work, but the boss flat out refused to pay him, saying, 'Sue me'.

So OP did. But it was a long, tiring process and ended up costing a lot more than he had anticipated. At first, he let it go, but eventually, he learned that his friend had quit, and also hadn't received money that was rightfully his. So OP took action… and that action involved talking to the BSA, as he was aware that they would be interested in this particular company.

It led, quite literally, to the company's demise. The huge settlement ruined the company, and the owner had to shut down the firm. The moral of the story: Don't mess with people's paychecks.

For more stories like this, here is an executive that refused to own up to the fact she hit another employee's car… but got in the end, what she deserved.

10+ Top Tinder Moments of the Week (March 29, 2022)

It's a wild world out there… and when you open the magical wardrobe of online dating, there's no telling what might spill forth. Sure, you're probably going to encounter some mischievous fauns—who have more experience sending unsolicited photos of their anatomical features than participating in actual conversation. You'll probably also run into that ice queen who cares for naught but how she's perceived on social media—but is seeking a partner to finance her photo-centric misadventures. You might even encounter an actual lion—whose alarming ability to engage in alluring conversation is nothing but a facade designed to mask its ego-fueled lust for human flesh.

I'm running out of suitable Chronicles of Narnia references here, and it's admittedly been a very long time since I opened one of those books, so somebody—please… help me out here.

Regardless, the point still stands: When you open the box of dating chocolates, there's no telling what you'll get. (The references are all over the place—just roll with it.) Keep reading for this week's selection of "Top Tinder Moments."

'I no-call no-showed for 4 days straight': Boss ignores employee's wedding, so employee 'forgets' to show up to work

A long-time housekeeper was used to putting up with her harsh boss, until her boss decided to entirely ignore her wedding day

As a housekeeper for 8 years, this OP was quite experienced putting up with Karens of all kinds. She dealt with Karen clients, as well as her boss, who could be "super rude and snotty." Despite this, the OP didn't mind her boss much of the time – she was just doing what she needed to do to get by. The entire time, she was watching a revolving door of employees, but she thought she would be okay. She'd already told her boss about her upcoming wedding, and her boss seemed to support the OP needing time off.

The OP found out the unfortunate truth about her boss during the run-up to her wedding, when things really hit the fan. Scroll through this satisfying petty revenge tale. Then, check out this story of a mom who sided with her daughter in law over her son — and then gave her son a piece of her mind, right in front of all his friends.

'Just obnoxious': Dude wears messy informal shirt when meeting girlfriend's parents, girlfriend throws a fit

There are certainly "do's" and "don'ts" when it comes to meeting your significant other's parents for the first time! When it comes to what not to do, there's of course bringing up any contentious subject matter, there's using any bad language, and then there's violating the dress code. Now, should there have been communication on the girlfriend's part in this specific instance (i.e. if this is a guy who often wears Iron Maiden T-Shirts, should she have specified what to wear?) The answer to that question is a resounding yes. However, at the end of the day, this guy is an adult and clearly has terrible judgment. When it comes to impressing your potential future in-laws, it's always better to err on the side of caution and dress more formally than you need to. Better to be overdressed than underdressed! '[We] dressed like we were in the Matrix': 25+ People share the cringiest phases they ever went through as teens

These brave souls told us all about their cringiest teen phases, from bleaching the tips of their hair to unironically rocking fedoras.

Going through phases in life is only natural. After all, as you grow from a child to a teen to an adult, you need to learn about who you are and who you want to be. There's a lot of trial and error as you make new friends or enter new classes. Suddenly, something you loved last week is now unbearably cringe. That's the gift of hindsight!

Looking back on their youth, these folks shared the funny and sweet phases they went through. Most are based around fashion trends of the time, like shopping at the 'edgy' stores in the mall, or rocking fedoras or fingerless gloves. But other people expounded upon their interesting personality changes through the years, and those are some wild tales.

Next up, this person really wanted to hide her three dogs from her HOA, but it seems like a nosy neighbor might rat them out…

'If [you] only want to work 40 hours a week then you should leave': VP makes tone-deaf demands on company call after no one receives a raise

There are ways to inspire people, but this is not it! After realizing that none of his coworkers received a raise in years (in one case, over six years!), this employee found himself on a company-wide call in which his VP decided to make the kind of rousing speech that should boost morale.

Well, if that was the goal, it would be an understatement to say it was less than successful. The VP decided to demand that all employees should be prepared to work way more than 40 hours a week. Clearly, any current cultural conversations of work-life balance were not on this dude's mind. And if they were, he decided to go in the exact opposite direction. Not the wisest choice in this day and age, and yet, that's what he went with.

Top Shower Verdicts by Musing Masterminds

Revelations tend to happen most often in the shower, although it's not quite clear why. Perhaps because it's that time of day that you can just chill, so your thoughts begin to settle into a nice, neat pile, making space for new ones. Allegedly, one good idea that was conceived by the famous Isaac Newton apparently occurred to him while he was chilling under an apple tree. He's that dude that came up with the law of universal gravitation, but evidently, an apple had to plop onto his head (ouch) for that to happen.

In case you missed it, we're talking about shower thoughts here. When you're standing under the trickling stream of water, your thoughts wander through the different (weird) valleys in the atoms of your brain, coming to some strangely accurate conclusions. Perhaps you're a Wim Hof fan and you've been attempting to distract yourself as you sit miserably in the freezing cold water, OR you're normal, having a normal shower. Either way, showers are blessed with a certain… magic that allows you to capture those thoughts and figure out you're secretly a genius.

25+ Tricked-out junkyard jalopies that really shouldn't be driving anywhere

Lots of high-end cars in the world are stunningly souped-up… anyway, here are 25+ vehicles that are the exact opposite of that.

People take such pride in their cars. After all, lots of us spend hours every week driving to work, stores, friends' houses, and more. Since it's such a source of pride, folks will spend thousands to make their rides as cool as possible. But clearly, as these people below can attest to, it doesn't always go quite right.

Check out these bizarre cars. Then, this woman stared daggers at her birthday guests, making them feel uncomfortable, because she never actually wanted a house party in the first place.

Top 5 Karens of the Week (March 28, 2023)

It's about time we give you a freshly updated ranking of the top 5 Karens this week. As we know, Karens are widespread these days and the more we share the stories of how regular folks were able to deal with them, the more prepared we all will be when we come across Karens in our own lives. Here at FAIL Blog, it's the least we can do.

'I was miserable the whole time': Mom plans birthday party for daughter, but her daughter is determined to make the guests uncomfortable

This woman's been living with her mother for her whole life, yet her mom still managed to get under her skin with this birthday party

U/LowHold1634 wrote to r/AmItheA**hole about an incident between her and her mother. The issue is that while living with her mother, she feel indebted to her, and goes along with her mother's "incredibly controlling" plans. It came to a head on the OP's birthday,  when the OP planned a party with friends. She requested that her mom not invite guests over to the house, however, and her mom just ignored her.

The OP then proceeded to take her anger out on her guests and her mom, and one can only imagine the kind of awkwardness that must have resulted. The OP describes glaring daggers at her guests… why would she think that was okay to do to her guests?

'I feel like a court jester': Humiliated waitress refuses to sing 'Happy Birthday' to customers, gets scolded by management then required to sing in Italian instead

There's nothing more cringey than that sinking feeling in your gut when you hear restaurant waitstaff emerging from the kitchen with a sparkling dessert in hand and a birthday song on their lips. For some, even when it's not even their birthday, this public hooplah sends them into a fight-or-flight response. As a server, singing for your guests is either going to make or break the job. For notorious extroverts (and unnaturally confident folks who are working on an amateur singing career), entertaining the customer is the best part of the job. For regular people and MOST servers, this is their biggest nightmare.

One woman named Katelyn, a waitress at an upscale Italian restaurant, recently almost lost her job because she refused to sing happy birthday (as a solo performer, by the way) in front of a restaurant full of people. Her managers approached their "request" for her to sing in a demeaning way and it was more of an order than it was an option. Yikes. Katelyn had feeble attempts to avoid singing to strangely eager customers by simply wishing them happy days and good celebrations, which is a much classier approach to a birthday celebration.

Finally, after several successful weeks of avoiding public humiliation, a table asked if she could sing the birthday song in Italian instead. Katelyn did not speak Italian, so she declined. Once management found out, they t old her to Google the lyrics in a foreign language and simply memorize it in 2 minutes before singing to their table for dessert.

As if singing in your own native language was embarrassing enough, Katelyn pushed through and did her performance, only to have the Karen complain to management that she wasn't singing loudly or robustly enough. As if the shame wasn't enough, her boss sent a text the next morning saying how disappointed he was with her.

Tough crowd, huh?

'I live here!': Karen parks in family's driveway and tries to pretend it's her house

When someone is caught in a lie, it's always surprising to see how far they will take it. You might expect the liar to give it up, admit defeat, and admit to their deceit, but liars have been lying for so long that they don't know how to turn it off and will continue building up the fabrication even after their lie has been substantially disproven.

Reddit user u/Top-Studio8028 posted this thread to Reddit's r/entitledparents, sharing a story that he and his brother experienced after their family moved into their new home in a new development. After a stranger parked in the driveway of their home, they bizarrely claimed that they were the owner of the home in an attempt to keep their car parked there for a local event.

‘Thank you for your application for my labor’: Dude gives hiring managers a taste of their own medicine, drafts mass emails rejecting offers

Sometimes, giving someone a taste of their own medicine is the only way to deliver your message. In this instance, we're dealing with a restless job applicant who is clearly at his wit's end. After applying to countless positions and coming across red flag after red flag during the interview process, he decided to flip the script, so to speak, by drafting a mass email used to reject these subpar offers.

Now, is this enjoyable from an objective perspective? Yes. However, as some folks in the comments have pointed out, it's not exactly the wisest decision. I mean, it's certainly not the most professional choice either. But for those of us who have no stake whatsoever in this guy's job application process, it's an enjoyable treat, and here's hoping that one of these recruiters actually responds to this email. Entitled Karen Goes Into Full Rage Mode at Movie Theater, Guy Dumps His Water Bottle on Her

There's nothing like an all-out brawl with a Karen at the movie theater to make the moviegoing experience all the more memorable. This thread was posted to Reddit's r/EntitledPeople subreddit by u/NoStateGreenery, who shared an anecdote about an upper-class Karen, her balding boyfriend, and an impulsive choice to dump a water bottle on them to defend his mother.

The Redditor's mother was trying to avoid the large crowd exiting the theater at the end of the film because she has a bad knee. When she came across Karen and her beau, they wouldn't let her pass because they wanted to watch the credits. They harassed the original poster's mom to the point that she was crying, and that's when her son stepped in to defend her. Did he have to dump the contents of his water bottle on them? No. Is it a satisfying reading experience to hear about that choice and the subsequent fight that followed? Yes! Yes! A thousand times, Yes!

'My dumb idiot brother was getting blackmailed': Brothers beat blackmailing catfish at their own game

We're all pretending to be someone we're not. Whether it's putting on our "business persona" during office hours to conform to corporate life or trying to fit in with a new friend group—we all do some level of managing how we want to be perceived by others.

Catfishes take this to another level, building an entirely new identity online to experience the thrill of being someone they're not or escape from their own reality—sometimes getting so deeply lost in it that there's no turning back. Usually, a catfish's intentions aren't nefarious (at least initially), but sometimes the catfish creates the persona from the get-go with the scam in mind.

In this story of petty revenge, shared to Reddit's classic subreddit community of the same name, Redditor u/dickwithshortlegs97 shared their story of how he intervened to save his brother from a catfish who was blackmailing his brother will illicit photos he had sent them.

'Just call me chef': 25 Funny and frightful food fails from people who are banned from the kitchen for life

Have you heard about the aspiring chef who made cheese out a mint milkshake? This ambitious cheese maker presumably bought a green St. Patty's day shake and committed to the entire cheese making process. Would you try it, though? Perhaps the cheese would pair well with the toast that was actually a kitchen sponge. For those with a refined palette, we recommend the nightmare fuel of the "bologna cake," topped with mayo and mustard. There are all kinds of concoctions and meals gone wrong, and luckily for us, their creators decided to share their fails with the internet.

Check out this wild array of food fails. Then, these actors and movie crew members spilled what it's actually like behind the scenes of a movie that everyone already knows isn't going to be very good.

'My grandma says I can': Waterpark Karen and entitled teen throw temper tantrum at lifeguard

It is surprisingly unsurprising that water parks attract the Karens of this world. Here is a tale of generational Karens, in which an entitled teenager taunted a lifeguard after numerous warnings. Matters were, of course, made worse when the teenager's grandmother got involved, proving just where this young girl inherited this unacceptable behavior.

The grandmother threw a tantrum of her own that you'll just have to read to believe. Thankfully, the lifeguard's superior sided with him rather than with Karen and Karen-in-the-making. At the end of the day, the two were actually kicked out of the whole park. It's continually shocking that Karens believe they can exhibit this behavior to employees, but even more shocking that they think they can get away with actions that are not only verbal but physical too. What world are we living in these days?

Although there are some days, despite coffee's best efforts, that you're still dragging. It's probably because your work is futile and even though they promised you a "fast paced environment", time comes to a standstill the moment you clock in. At least you know one thing is for certain, the coffee pot in the break room will be burning that weak cup of Joe all day, begging you to come snag another mug-full. Now go write some passive aggressive emails and send some memes to your work bestie!

'I am not demanding': Demanding manager demands worker cover shift on their day off, demands their cooperation after they quit

If you have to claim that you are or aren't something, it's incredibly likely that you aren't or are that thing. It's like having that one friend who tells you that they hate drama, yet whenever drama happens, they're right there in the thick of it. So, when your boss tells you that they aren't demanding while they're in the middle of being demanding, it's likely their ego is just deflecting.

This discussion came to the forefront when an employee received a text from their boss asking them to come in to cover a shift for their coworker. When they responded that they could not come in because they were studying for an exam, the boss said they were "expected to be available for tonight's shift." Things escalated to the boss saying they were "disappointed," and the employee decided it was time to walk away from the job. We're starting to see so many posts like this it makes you wonder… just how prevalent is this in shift work?

This post was posted to the r/antiwork subreddit by Redditor u/Hoodtho after the incident. They shared screenshots of the exchange between them and their boss titled "Happened on Tuesday but [middle finger emoji] this idiot." The thread has hit the top of the subreddit with 21k upvotes.

'I unloaded all the rubbish right back on to his driveway' : Contractor takes petty revenge on entitled customer in breach of price agreement

As someone offering your services to a customer, you give a price, and the customer tries to bargain said price… that's just how it goes. It's a frustrating, but necessary, part of the job. However, when a customer attempts bargaining AFTER you've completed the work… well, that's a whole different story. After settling on a price, you shouldn't have to deal with someone who refuses to pay that cost. That is what happened to a contractor who collected rubbish for a customer who decided after the fact that it was 'too expensive.'

After a few choice words, the contractor decided to drive off, upset that he had wasted half a day. He wasn't exactly drowning in money. As he was heading off, he was hit — with a brilliant idea. He made a quick u-turn and dumped all the rubbish right back onto the shocked customer's driveway (who, mind you, was freaking out by this time). Scroll down to see what happened next.

Moral of the story: don't mess with your contractor. For more stories like this, here is a woman who thought she could get away with not pitching in for her sick boss's gift, yet expected credit.

'Boss told me I'm stealing': Worker accused of wage theft for clocking in for meetings on their days off

Expecting your workers to attend hour-long meetings on their day off without receiving any compensation, let alone acknowledgment, is effectively a theft of wages. So to turn around and accuse those same workers of theft for claiming that time is quite outrageous.

'If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it': Manager creates mandatory lunch break schedule, employee finds loophole to get paid overtime

This guy managed to find a way to get paid during an unpaid lunch break. Here's what happened. His new manager, Dave, decided to step in and enforce a ridiculous new policy in which he assigned everyone lunch times. Unfortunately, the Redditor learned that their assigned time would be during their most productive time of day when they usually schedule meetings and calls.

So rather than reschedule all those meetings and calls, the employee decided to keep them because there's a policy in their contract that any work during an unpaid lunch break must be paid in overtime. After submitting a detailed report to Dave by the end of the week to ensure that they were compensated for that "extra" work, Dave realized just how nonsensical the lunch break policy really was. At the end of the day, Dave reversed the policy, much to literally no one's chagrin. Keep scrolling below for the full story!

On this r/askreddit thread, people shared that, along with other ways to determine if someone's trustworthy as you get to know them. The answers are interesting and eye opening — and you can tell some people only know their answers from personal experiences

Some folks advised that you should keep an eye out for how people treat waiters or other service workers. If they're rude or dismissive towards them, that's a major sign that they don't treat people with basic respect. Another person suggested a very bright red flag, which is calling their exes or roommates crazy. If everyone around that person is "crazy," maybe the problem is actually them.

Check out these useful tips below. Then, check out these people who just wanted their food served on plates, but instead, got apples on an iPad and raviolis on a clothesline.

'I do not schedule interviews for candidates who are currently employed': HR shows true colors with bogus hiring policy, internet reacts

We all know that employers can be ruthless during the hiring process, but this hiring manager made it clear just how ruthless they can be. It goes without saying that insisting that the only candidates you interview are ones who are not currently employed full-time is a major red flag. First of all, it's quite clearly a tactic to exploit the desperation of unemployed candidates. Secondly, it's wildly limiting; don't you want candidates who are seeking you out as a potentially better place to work? I guess that doesn't really matter to hiring managers like these ones.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/mildlyinfuriating subreddit, and the comments provide a glimpse into just how common this ridiculous hiring policy actually is. Imagine if this Redditor quit their job just so they could be considered for this one. In this economy? No way! Keep scrolling below for the best comments! Video of Barn Cat Intrigued by a Rattlesnake Sparks Debate Between Crazy-Cat People and Farmers

Farmers who have had barn cats all their lives say the cats are expert hunters and snakes don't stand a chance, but cat lovers say that it's irresponsible to let your pet feline near a venomous snake. (P.S. The cat in the video is perfectly fine.)

Neurotic Woman Smacks a Deer With Her Purse Then Gets Attacked, Sparking Debate in the Comments

Did she handle this right or nah?

‘Jobs these days [hate] on introverts even when they actually do their job well’ : Mechanic with outstanding workmanship gets poor review due to being an introvert, which causes his raise to be cut

Life is already hard being an introvert. Humans are pack animals, but when you're an introvert you just want to be left alone. You have your few core people that respect your boundaries and those are the only people you want to hang out with. Why do you have to go and be socials with a bunch of strangers all the time? Or for that matter, why do you even have to go and hang with your coworkers? Shouldn't there be a divide between work and play anyways?

This is the argument one introvert employee has for his management right now. He recently had a work review that would have been outstanding if it weren't for the comments saying he wasn't social enough. This man is a nightshift bus mechanic and doesn't really need to speak with anybody to do his job well—and he does his job expertly well. So what's the deal? Is he really getting a poor review just because he doesn't want to socialize while at work? He also mentions that the work "social" environment is toxic and all the do is talk badly about whoever isn't on that shift that day. He doesn't want any part of that, why should he get punished? His review determines the percentage of a raise he gets, so now he is getting punished financially just because he is an introvert.

'Welcome to the bare minimum': Sneaky supervisor lies about shift change, so employee decides to act their wage

Although this boss thought he was being sly, he actually ended up making a long-time employee "quiet quit" their job

Imagine you work the same exact shift for nearly a decade, and then suddenly, your boss wants to change your hours. That was what happened to u/Badwolf2012, who shared their tale of this slow-moving catastrophe with r/pettyrevenge. Their boss basically told all the workers that they could take a vote to determine the best new work schedule to abide by. But he didn't even follow his own rules, and his workers clearly noticed the shady move.

The OP took to the comments section to answer questions, and promised an update in the future. We can't wait to hear more about how the department is slowly deteriorating — the OP definitely needs a new job, though.

Then, check out another bad boss who did basically nothing at his job, leading his employees to stop doing anything extra to help him out.

'AITA for telling my boss I don't trust him anymore?': Boss hits interns car, then gets majorly upset when intern won't park near him anymore

This intern might have ruined their relationship with their boss, with one person scolding them, "This was very immature on your part."

Being an intern at a company involves a lot of meeting new people, doing tasks you've never done before, and learning about an entire field of work. This intern isn't exactly getting along with their boss, and they seem to be leaving a bad impression, too.

As u/FabulousLikeHer posed to the r/AmItheA**hole community, they had a car accident with their boss in the company parking lot. It wasn't just any car — the OP has a sports car, which they write that they saved up for. One day, their boss managed to sideswipe the vehicle, leaving the OP with a dented car. After going through insurance formalities, the OP tried to park a little further away from their boss. Their boss took major offense to that, though. In the comments, no one could agree who was the a** in this situation, but the OP notes that just writing out the whole scenario helped them find clarity.

'If I see them, I bin them': Coworker brings personal dishes in from home to make coworkers wash them, they end up in the trash

Sometimes an inappropriate action deserves the appropriate response; it's the simple laws of cause and effect acting out their parts. This is how it was when worker u/elena247's coworker decided to execute the clever ploy of bringing their dirty dishes to work to have others wash them. When u/elena247 discovered what their coworker was up to, they decided the appropriate response was to introduce the dirty dishes to the trash can. Sounds like a reasonable course of action to us.

It's hard to imagine the audacity of this terrible coworker to walk her dishes from home so that her coworkers could wash them. Going through that much effort just to avoid effort is unfathomably illogical. It's really hard to fault this worker for dumping these dishes straight in the bin.

When u/elena247 shared their story to Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit, it received a warm response from readers who were bewildered by the coworker's actions. 'Expect surprise visits from me': Boss enforces strict no phone policy filled with ridiculous typos

It's hard to be taken seriously as a manager when your messages are overflowing with typos and misspellings. If you expect your employees to follow rules, you can't have those rules read like straight-up gibberish. Moreover, if you expect your employees to be careful with their tasks, you should probably consider, I don't know, spell check. Some of these typos are so egregious a 5-year-old could spot them.

This thread was posted to Reddit by u/Such_Recover_777, who provides some more backstory in the comments section after posting the photo of her boss's ridiculous message. Once again, it just goes to show that managers can be incredibly tone-deaf in their messaging and can lack even an iota of self-awareness in their rules and practices. Not letting people listen to music with headphones as they're completing tasks? Not even letting them take out their phones when they're on break? That's not a workplace; that's a prison.

Whenever you're presented with a problem, you have three options:

  1. Research the tried and true solution
  2. Hire or ask someone who has the correct experience.
  3. Improvise.

It's always tempting to go for the third option, and you might find yourself going this route more often than you care to admit. Sometimes this will work out for you… sometimes your creation will end up in a collection of images like this one. But—hey, there's no harm in trying!

These individuals gave it their best shot and in a lot of instances, came up with an entirely workable solution, but that doesn't mean they did everything entirely correctly.

This collection of images is made up of classic design fail images as well a selection of fresh posts made to a popular Facebook group, 'If ya squint it's mint,' where contributors share interesting solutions, creations, and designs they have witnessed out in the wild.

'I bought a pizza so I could talk to the delivery guy': 15+ Cringe Pizza Delivery Fails

Why does it feel like there's nothing more anxiety-inducing than navigating my interaction with the pizza delivery guy? As it turns out, I can be a fully grown adult with a full-time job and plenty of responsibilities, but I still can't wrap my brain around what to say to the dude in the Dominos cap when he knocks on my door.

For starters, there's the impulse to apologize for making him deliver my pizza. Then there's the impulse to pretend like there's someone else home so it doesn't look like I just ordered 3 large pizzas for myself. Then, there's the unplanned conversation that completely ruins the script I prepared in my mind. For instance, I might just be expecting him to say "Have a good night," to which I have prepared my "You too!" response. But what if he says "Enjoy your pizza!" and then I accidentally still say "You too." See what I mean? Navigating these interactions is harder than it seems. Keep scrolling for these pizza delivery fails.

‘Welcome to the Loonies Playground’ : Top Tone-Deaf LinkedIn Lunatics

LinkedIn is a social media platform where contestants go to compete over who leads a more privileged, happy life. In other words, who can be the most tone-deaf? From celebrities to CEOs, your jaw is bound to drop at one point or another while scrolling, as you sift through the entitled mess. How do people live with their own stupidity? It seems as though there are different planes of reality, and we don't all live on the same one. If that were the case, the captions of posts would not be so staggeringly phony and/or ignorant.

It's the Instagram for grown-ups, a platform where insecure people get to show off, bragging about their own semi-miserable existence so that they feel a little less bad every time they pass a mirror. Of course there are some advantages to having a LinkedIn account, such as expanding your social network, looking for a job, developing your career, etc. But sometimes I wonder if the cons outway the pros. You be the judge…

AITA: 'He found out when he was served an eviction notice': Immature brother expects family freebies after avoiding paying rent to his brother for months, older sibling sells the house in retaliation, family drama ensues

There's a reason that people wear stupid masks to cover their identity when they accept lottery winnings on public broadcast. It's simple– they don't want their family knowing that they're overnight billionaires. For some reason, people think that they're entitled to a portion of any family member's financial success just because you're related. One man found out the hard way just how far his brother was willing to push him to get 'his share' of family freebies, forcing him to teach his sibling a brutal life lesson.

After allowing his brother and their family to live in one of his rental properties, the older brother started to sense that things might go sour. The younger brother, at first, was determined to improve the property, buying things for the house and then "taking the buyers fee" out of his monthly rent. The older brother never asked for these changes to be made to the house so he simply asked him for the full rent amount and to leave any renovations to him, the property owner.

That's when the scamming started.

The younger brother started to run out of money and kept pushing off rent payments, begging his brother for an extension and never following through. Finally, the older brother got fed up covering the costs himself and letting his brother take advantage of him. He listed the house to sell and his brother was sent an official eviction notice. Ouch.

Fuming, the financially irresponsible brother called him saying that he should have offered it to them to buy, but the older brother was wondering what kind of money he had stashed away to buy a house when he didn't even have enough to make rent? The younger brother went on a revenge spree, bad mouthing the older brother to the entire family. The older brother gave the family members their own chance to cover the cost of his brother's debt and nobody stepped up. As it turns out, when you give family an inch on money matters, they'll take a whole mile.

'Ma'am these knives are high-end...': Customer gets sharp revenge on rude store clerk when he makes an incorrect assumption about her knife knowledge

A hasty and rude retail worker quickly corrected this woman when she pointed out a pricing error on a chef's knife she was interested in. She relented in revealing the mistake to the worker and ended up with a deal on a great knife.

This story was shared to the r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/TIL_eulenspiegel, the woman in the story, where it earned 19k upvotes as of the writing of this post.

When she went to the department store, she was greeted by an "older man" who was extremely helpful. But by the time she had made her selection, he had gone on break and been replaced by a "young rover from another department."

When she approached the counter with her selection, the knife rang up as $40, which she was certain was incorrect. When she attempted to correct the error, the youngster interrupted her. Upon inspection of the label, it was clear to the OP that the knife had been labeled incorrectly. The label described a six-inch sandwich knife when it was clearly an eight-inch chef's knife.

In this case, things worked in u/TIL_eulenspiegel's favor. She gave up on correcting the young man and ended up with a hell of a deal on a knife. Sounds like a win to us!

Dad Gives His Stepson an Equal Share of His Inheritance, Faces the Wrath of His Biological Children

You know that feeling when your father drafts his will in such a messed up way that it becomes clear he should really be investing in therapy instead?

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/Particular-Song-5748, who described a recent fight with his biological children (now in their 30s) after telling them that he plans to give his stepson the same percentage of his inheritance. To clarify: his stepson (12 years old) has only been in the father's life for 4 years now, and although he denies this, it's quite clear that his preferential treatment towards his stepson is an attempt to right the wrongs of the past when his biological kids were young.

You'd think a better way to right those wrongs would involve focusing his attention on the biological kids themselves, but I guess a 62-year-old man's mind works in mysterious ways. It should also be noted that the biological kids played a role in expanding their dad's business and helping him become successful later in life. What a completely idiotic move to then give them less inheritance, especially when they played such a large part in his later success in the first place!

'My boss said upgrade him if there is room, so I made sure there wasn't' : Flight attendant maliciously complies with boss, upgrading 5 random passengers to business class, revoking rude passenger's free upgrade

Flight attendants see the good, the bad, and the ugly. To be fair, anyone working in the service industry gets access to the entitled side of the world. This employee was working as a flight attendant at a regional airline and had enough of her usual, disgruntling encounters with a rude, entitled traveler who happened to have ties to her boss, VP Karen. One day he arrived, pompous as ever, demanding to be upgraded to business class. He didn't have a coupon, which was necessary in order to receive said upgrade, so she turned him down.

Sure enough, not two minutes later, she received a call from VP Karen, who told her, 'If there is room, upgrade him'. Begrudgingly, OP did as she was told, until she was struck with a genius idea… technically, VP had said 'if there is room'… meaning, OP had some spaces to fill, and she needed to fill them fast. By the time she was done, she made sure that this bad-mannered passenger would not be upgraded, because, after all, there was no room.

For more stories like this, here is an entitled employee who thought she deserved an 'inheritance' from her former employer.
