LinkedIn is a social media platform where contestants go to compete over who leads a more privileged, happy life. In other words, who can be the most tone-deaf? From celebrities to CEOs, your jaw is bound to drop at one point or another while scrolling, as you sift through the entitled mess. How do people live with their own stupidity? It seems as though there are different planes of reality, and we don't all live on the same one. If that were the case, the captions of posts would not be so staggeringly phony and/or ignorant.
It's the Instagram for grown-ups, a platform where insecure people get to show off, bragging about their own semi-miserable existence so that they feel a little less bad every time they pass a mirror. Of course there are some advantages to having a LinkedIn account, such as expanding your social network, looking for a job, developing your career, etc. But sometimes I wonder if the cons outway the pros.
