'I saw red': Cheapskate boss forces shift supervisors to pay for company pizza parties and refuses to tip, shift supervisors pays them in pettily dispensed pennies

Company pizza parties are, at best, a bandage solution for poor employee morale resulting from poor company culture and worker compensation; shelling out $60 for a few pizzas doesn't suddenly erase months of missed breaks, understaffing, unpaid overtime, and other practices that reek of borderline exploitation.

Yet — this is the go-to solution for so many workplaces that insist that their exploited, exhausted workers are "family" — if that's really how you treat your family… are they still speaking to you?

This boss has somehow managed to take the pathetic attempt of morale boosting up (down?) a notch — by making the managers pay out of pocket each time these pitiful events are held. To make matters even worse, the boss refuses to tip the delivery drivers appropriately, leaving the managers to front that too.

'You burned a bridge': Man would rather catch up on sleep than babysit his nephew, meanwhile the boy's aunt undergoes treatment in the ICU after a potentially fatal car accident

Some people would do pretty much anything for their family. As Dominic Toretto always said, 'The most important thing in life will always be family". Well, for one Redditor, the most important thing in his life, is sleep. And apparently nothing in this world could threatened to deprive him of his 8 hours– not even the near d3ath experience of a family member.

His brother-in-law, a father of two children, called the sleepy man over Easter weekend desperately asking for a favor. The BIL's sister had been in a potentially fatal car accident and they would need to drive across the state and check in on her, and say their goodbyes, at the hospital over the weekend. Fearing traumatizing their children, they called up Sleepy and asked him if he and his wife could watch them over the weekend. They had never had any issues with babysitting the kids before, but out of the blue, Sleepy refused to help them out in their time of need.

He claimed that he needed to get his sleep cycle on track for working night shifts and watching a couple kids, his niece and nephew, over the weekend simply wasn't going to help him get the rest he needed. Excuse me?

Fuming, the BIL  reminded him that he had said one that 'he would do anything for those kids', but apparently taking care of them for 48hrs when it was literally a life or d3ath situation, was not in that wheelhouse. Although Sleepy works in a steel mill, and his biggest excuse for saying no was because he was going to be working nights, we think that he could have risked a couple of days of sleep discomfort in his SIL and BIL's time of need. What do you think?

Update! '[I] unplugged the Wi-Fi': Husband can't get workaholic wife to take a break, sabotages internet connection, faces backlash online

This guy may have lost his chances at winning Husband of the Year. After repeatedly trying to get his pregnant wife - who is described in this Reddit thread as a workaholic - to take a break for her mental and emotional health, he decided he couldn't wait any longer. So he fully unplugged the Wi-Fi and hid the cord.

You can imagine that his wife's response was not one of gratitude. Thankfully, according to an update below, it seems like they were able to work things out moving forward. Still, even though his intentions were pure, it ultimately didn't matter. There is no way that unplugging the Wi-Fi without any warning would alleviate his wife's stress. In fact, if anything, he rapidly escalated the situation. Sure, she clearly needs to take better care of herself and needs to work toward finding a better work/life balance, but that's something couples should build together. Forcing that balance through conflict is not going to be productive.

'I put glitter in my friend's laundry': 20+ People share their funniest petty revenge stories

The creativity these people showed while having their own petty revenge moment is so inspiring. When u/trexradar87 asked, "Reddit, what's your best/funniest personal example of petty revenge?," people delivered tons of hilarious stories of pettiness in the workplace, school yard, and more.

These people who wrote their stories in reply to the post are extremely clever with their solutions. The college kid who pranked their friend by putting glitter in his laundry is a perfect example of a harmless prank with a funny outcome. Other people shared the various ways they wanted to mess with their coworkers, and they clearly put a lot of thought into doing what they thought would torment them the most — like changing the speed of their double-click to mess with them.

'I don't wanna be your mommy': Man kicks out gaslighting roommate after he tries to guilt him into cleaning up his dirty dishes

Dirty dishes are the leading cause for roommate breakups. It's not proven or anything, but as anybody who has ever lived with another person knows, the passive aggressive nature of a maintaining a clean home can sometimes lead to horrific strife between you and your housemates. One Redditor recently felt the full force of roomie drama when he received an out-of-the-blue text from his roommate (who is also his older cousin).

After generously offering his home to his cousin, u/ThisNameWillSaveMe realized the error of his ways when the kitchen started falling into disrepair. Although he thought that he and his cousin could cohabit peacefully, he noticed right away that their definition of "clean" was completely different. OP would find his cousin playing hours and hours of Fortnite while getting higher than a kite in the middle of the day as dishes in the sink piled up.

To fight the mountain of dishes (and to avoid being implicated in cleaning any mess that wasn't his), OP started using 1 knife, 1 fork, 1 bowl, and one plate, ensuring that he could contain his mess and keep tabs on his own business. The bad roommate never noticed that OP was using scarce supplies in the kitchen and after months of depravity in the sink, he finally had the audacity to blame the OP for his mess.

He sent a scathing text to him, pointing a finger at the mountain of dirty dishes in the sink and claiming that he wasn't going to 'be his mommy' and clean up after him. Wait what? After living for months on skimped supplies, OP finally snapped and told his older cousin (and charity case) that he was in fact the one creating the mess and do the adult thing and take care of it instead of placing blame on anyone else.

After a voracious battle via text, OP kicked out the dirty-disher, forcing him to move out and find a place of his own. Now OP can finally have a clean sink, a free couch, and peace of mind.

'Have fun with unemployment': Karen coworker fires herself by refusing to do her job

When you have a job, it's usually best to do that job if you want to keep it… Not get embroiled in a war of petty acts against a coworker who wanted no part in that war in the first place. If you choose the latter pathway, you need to be prepared for any consequences that follow.

Redditor u/Peach_Gfuel shared this story to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit about their coworker who insisted on getting revenge on them for a perceived slight. u/Peach_Gfuel had previously worked for the Quality Assurance team that Karen transferred to, a team that was responsible for ensuring that the rest of the company was delivering to the company's standards.

Karen saw her chance to end the one-sided feud once and for all… and using her newfound QA powers she sought to get her nemesis fired, not realizing that this would be her downfall.
