Australian Comedian Who Became Famous for Requesting References from a Landlord is Now Getting Blacklisted

His current lease is about to end and his righteous journey to help better the lives of renters is now about to make him homeless.

Boss Demands Note After Pregnant Woman Misses One Day, Doctor Writes Note For Two Weeks

Redditor u/NeekaNou shared this story recently to r/MaliciousCompliance.

u/NeekaNou has been facing some backlash from her employer surrounding the effects of her pregnancy. They seem to be less-than-thrilled with her entirely valid reasons for having to miss some days of work.

On top of this, u/NeekaNou has a permanent disability. A disability that she has been receiving government support for. This disability also affects her pregnancy, and she needs to ensure that the disability does not impact the pregnancy through some special treatment.

When u/NeekaNou missed a day of work, amidst escalating hostility, she returned to find her employer demanding that she get a note from her doctor excusing the absence. u/NeekaNou returned for the note and her doctor took pity on her. She instead gave u/NeekaNou two weeks off which sent the employer into a fury.

u/NeekaNou provided an edit regarding her bosses reaction:

"Edit: for those who believe she may be concerned for my health. For the last few months, my work environment has been gradually becoming more and more hostile. A specific example is where she ripped me to pieces for not completing a piece of work that wasn't even due yet. I manage my workload based on due dates. It was not due for another week and I had not been given any notice that the due date had changed. At this point, it has become a regular occurrence where I'm sitting at my computer crying. She may have been concerned for me but I find that difficult to believe with how I've been treated the last few months.

It's pretty clear to me that the employer is not concerned for her health. Everything about this screams abuse of power.

Honest Descriptions of Airline Staff Are As Enlightening As They Are Cynical

Any job has a complex cast of characters who are too well aware of how they're being screwed over. It doesn't really matter the place. It could be a restaurant, shoe store, marketing firm or cancer research institute. Just about anywhere, there are jaded coworkers who not only had to work hard to get to where they are, and work hard every day, but are also simultaneously treated like garbage. It feels like something that shouldn't be a thing in a functioning society, but hey, where would progress be if we weren't constantly discontent with everything around us? At least that's the nice way of looking at it.

Airports are stressful, yet boring places with lots of rules. And that's just if you're a customer. Working in a liminal space must be an even weirder concept to wrap your head around. That's why some insight is a nice thing. And sometimes it takes a disgruntled airline worker to point those things out. So here are some observations of your friendly neighborhood cheap airline.

Karen Airbnb Guest Accosts Random Neighbor, Demands They Let Her Inside

There's nothing more bewildering than being accosted by a random person on the street. There you are, just chilling in your own little world. Suddenly the sky darkens, and hellfire and fury are rained down upon you. Depending on the circumstance, this can be pretty entertaining but, even in the best of circumstances, it's going to be incredibly tense.

Cortisol is pumping;  the heart is racing. The whole body is prepped and alert for any outcome.

Indeed that must have been what u/JohnDodger felt when confronted by this bestial Karen, who was seeing red from her own wild stupidity.

Stepping out of his house, he was confronted with Karen's savage fury. He made the foolish mistake of attempting to reason with it, but it wasn't very effective.

Probably around the point where she called me "lazy" for not letting her into my neighbor's house would have been where I would lose myself in uncontrollable laughter.

Some say that this Karen is still waiting to get into her Airbnb to this day.

Moments That People Realized They Had Screwed Up

Many of us have had what what 00s teen comedies would describe as "a record scratch moment." A certain moment directly as something is going wrong in which time stops and you think: "how exactly did I get here? I think I might have screwed up." Record scratch moments can happen in just about any instance of mistakery, be it when you drive up to your house only to find it burned down, when you are actively being electrocuted, or when you go to the bathroom and slowly realize that the burning and itching is only getting worse.

Even after the problem is solved or runs its course, it's impossible to forget that moment of realization. And there are only two benefits to having these memories. The first being that we have a better idea of how to not make the same mistake again, and the second being "at least it's a decent story."

So here are the stories of times people found themselves in a terrible job interview, breaking the law in front of a cop, or hearing an explosion and thinking "man, I have definitely just screwed up."

For some more goofs and foibles, here are times the universe messed with one person exclusively.

Rich Connected Girlfriend Doesn't Understand She Isn't 100% Responsible For Her Own Success

It's hard enough knowing that the playing field is unfair. But when the people who are born with every single advantage can't even acknowledge that they didn't do it all on their own, that's just a slap in the face to the rest of us. This woman had her judge father get her into Harvard, got her an opportunity in her field, and has the audacity to wonder out loud why other people would "choose" to have worse jobs. Sounds like a bit of a relationship deal breaker, unless of course you're playing the long game and plan on Parasite-ing your whole family into her family.

Upon being told that she might have had some help along the way, princess here went and had a meltdown. If you are the type of person who, upon hearing basic facts about yourself, "has your self-conception decimated," it might not be everyone else's fault that you feel bad. Good grief.

At least this might be the first step toward some kind of personal growth. Being upset by reality is the first step to maybe, I dunno, being a better person? The thing is, she took it pretty hard. If it's like any other challenge she's had along the way, don't worry, maybe her dad can help.

But this time, the internet was the judge.
