'He was getting ruder every time we spoke': Scammy business guy tries to bully administrator and gets shut down, loses sale

It's often the case that treating people with respect will net you the best result, no matter how frustrating you find something to be. That doesn't mean that you won't need to lean a bit of weight on an ineffective organization or bureaucratic nightmare; the fact of the matter is that, often, in these cases, being the squeaky wheel will get you the grease. But, again, you should always do this with as much kindness and respect as possible. Having been on the other side of this in customer service, I can tell you with absolute certainty that you'll get the result you want (or a result) if you just treat people like human beings.

Well, this scammer didn't follow this ethical ideal and paid dearly for it. After submitting fraudulent paperwork, their continued aggression earned him nothing but a lost customer.

'I don't know how to bring up these things': Teenage worker keeps getting scheduled to work when she's not available, seeks advice about confronting boss

Lots of people start working between the ages of 14 to 17, depending on which US state you live in. That's the age when you can finally get your working papers, and join in with your cool friends who have jobs. Then you start a minimum wage shift and it's rough! You start to wonder why you were so eager to start working in the first place.

This teen has a common problem with holding a job while you're still in high school: the scheduling is insanity. As she writes, she's had to change her schedule a three times in six months. But the OP's boss has continually messed up the schedule and put this woman down for shifts that she can't work, meaning the OP has to switch with other employees to make things work. The OP is now quite frustrated, and asked r/AmItheA**hole what to do about her boss's constant errors.

Witty Work Memes for Weekday Soldiers With a Permanent Case of the Mondays (May 2, 2023)

Have you ever been triggered by a 'work smell' and had a fight-or-flight response because of it? Like when your first job was working at a Baskin Robbins and now the smell of melted ice cream makes you feel like you're getting fired? Or if you ever worked retail, there's that lingering smell of new clothing fibers that sticks in your nose, giving you flashbacks of every Karen trying to return something they got as a Christmas present in 2018. Looking at your current job, what's something that gives you PTSD? If your first thought is "everything", you might have a permanent case of the Mondays. The beginning of the week is something everyone dreads, but seldom understands. Obviously you have to work to pay those bills, but do we really have to right now? The coffee hasn't even kicked in yet and you're expected to flawlessly fill out these spreadsheets as if your manager will actually look at them. Hang in there, weekday soldier, keep repeating those mantras and you can get through this.

'He did not earn all of his good noodle stickers': First grade teacher roasted for excluding one student from class BBQ party

This teacher may not have made the smartest choice here. She decided that it was a good idea to exclude one student from the class BBQ because "he did not earn all of his good noodle stickers."

That's right. She thought it was a smart idea to dangle an exclusionary event for a class of six-year-olds for an entire month. This thread was posted to Reddit by u/Prize-Property-794, and well, the judges of the AITA community were less than kind. Once it was revealed that the one excluded student also had behavioral issues to begin with, it became obvious that the chips were stacked against this student from the start. In what world was he not set up to fail? These aren't high school students who have better control of themselves; these are first graders! As one person in the comments suggested, this teacher needs to find a new job.

'They had to move': Woman gets her neighbors evicted following their excessive complaints

Feuds between neighbors have nothing but losers—the sanctity of existence being continually besmirched by your arch-nemeses constant and continuous close proximity. The persistent presence of something so infuriating is enough to drive even the most level-headed people to insanely petty lengths, which is probably why there is no shortage of stories online where bad neighbors have driven each other to the bitter ends of sanity.

Apartments can be especially bad for this; with so many people crammed into close quarters, it's only a matter of time until someone starts to get on your nerves or behaves antisocially.

This apartment tenant shared their story of a terrible neighbor. The problems started when new neighbors moved into the apartment below them and began to submit formal complaints about everything they did in their apartment.

To be honest, though, if you lived under a shift worker who was getting home after 11 pm and doing their household chores… you might be a little annoyed too… The real villain here is the builders who, to maximize profits, decided that people should live in little boxes with paper-thin walls and barely thicker floors and ceilings.
