There are certainly "do's" and "don'ts" when it comes to meeting your significant other's parents for the first time! When it comes to what not to do, there's of course bringing up any contentious subject matter, there's using any bad language, and then there's violating the dress code. Now, should there have been communication on the girlfriend's part in this specific instance (i.e. if this is a guy who often wears Iron Maiden T-Shirts, should she have specified what to wear?) The answer to that question is a resounding yes. However, at the end of the day, this guy is an adult and clearly has terrible judgment.
