Sometimes, in-laws have zero understanding of personal space. In this story, which was posted to this thread on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/jamhappy165, this woman's in-laws kept "dropping by" with gifts on the weekends without any advanced notice.
It's totally normal for this to happen once, twice, maybe even three times. But at that point, it already sounds like a recurring plot device in a horror movie. The original poster described how eventually, she just stopped going outside to say hi because she was tired of rapidly throwing on her bra and rushing to look presentable for her husband's crazy family. Finally, the in-laws from Hell came over yet again with a gift. The Redditor's husband told his mother that his wife was taking a nap, but then his mother abruptly told him to tell her to get dressed and come out to see her. Obviously, this was some sort of sick and calculated test. No sweet and well-meaning mother-in-law would ever! The Redditor obliged and came out to say thank you, but this feels like just the beginning, to be honest. Just wait till they have kids!
