This employee was done dirty by their company, and told to "forget everything they know" or face legal recourse. And as per their moron ex-boss's instructions, they did just that. It just so happens that when the tower of cards their boss asked them to build finally came tumbling down 10 years later, that very same boss was left with one option: ask OP how to fix the whole thing. It's just too bad the instructions were all long gone, and OP had dutifully forgotten the important details on the matter. Too bad, so sad.
What's amazing is that this old boss was so desperate that they had to come back crawling on their knees to an employee that they could have kept around if they had simply been treated fairly. What a foreign concept, treating your employees like people.
For another good one, here's the power-tripping manager who reminded an employee that she could quit anytime, so she did.
