Life is about balance. And since so much of life is about the cold and brutal realities of being trapped in your own flesh prison, it's important to spend some time offsetting that with some fantasy. Specifically a fantasy where you can solve problems by hitting them with a club or smoking them with a lobbed fireball. Why even deal with anything if you can't spend a little bit of time pretending you're a bard, barding your way through an orc brothel.
Be you the frustrated DM who's just trying to get the party to notice your immaculately placed trap door, or you're a boneheaded party member rolling to see if they can scratch their own ass with a cursed dagger without prematurely ending the campaign, there's something for everyone in the realm of Dungeons and Dragons memes to cast on self.
