Biggest Plot Holes That Haunt People

Oh boy, buckle on up for some gaping plot holes. So many of us have been consumed by an unmistakable plot hole in a movie or book that we love at one point or another. It's like the writers just got a little bit lazy when it came to making sure that all the loose ends were tied off, or maybe they missed the plot hole altogether. Some of these are sure to strike a chord.

Text - _Solstice_• 18h Why didn't captain marvel just fly straight up with the glove? She had the glove, she was flying, she just chose to fly close to the ground and parallel to it instead of just straight up. I mean she flew straight though a fucking enormous spaceship but she couldn't fly straight up with a glove? Q Reply 1 514 3 ..

Text - Outrageous_Ent • 19h O 1 Award The last Harry Potter. At the start, they can't move him in any magical means that could get tracked. So why not use muggle means? They could have disguised him or used his invisibility cloak and got a taxi or a bus, or even hired or brought a used car. The Dursleys left in a car and it never said anything happened to them so I doubt it was due to potentially putting others in danger. What are the death eaters gonna do, set up roadblocks?? Text - currentlyeatingchese • 20h Friends: SPOILER FOR LAST EPISODE! but basically, joey and chandler have this foosball table and in one of the scenes in the show in an earlier season, we can see the top of the foosball table is sitting on a regular table because they were moving and hadn't gotten the base over yet for whatever reason. In the last episode, there's this big thing where they have to break open the foosball table because Joey's present for chandler got stuck in there (it was a chi

Text - DanBayX • 18h Mission impossibile ghost protocol. Well, long story short, everything revolves about these Russian nuclear codes being stolen. At which point I ask myself: couldn't they inform the Kremlin and have the codes changed? What is the villain gonna do with outdated codes? But no, for the glory of holy plot, US-RU bilateral communications are a mystery. Edit: holy shit that's alot of upvotes Reply 127 ...

Text - Spiritual_Jaguar4685 · 21h Surprised no one mentioned the ending of Jurassic Park 2. How does the boat crew die if the Mommy and Baby T-rexes are secured in the hold? I know it's addressed in the book, but the movie doesn't touch this at all. Reply 359 ...

Text - Eroe777 · 14h Mulan. Her father was a decorated and honored (and disabled) old soldier. If he had reported to the camp, he would probably have been placed in charge of something behind the lines (training, quartermaster), or sent home with thanks for his previous service. But then we wouldn't have had much of a movie. Q Reply 255 ...

Text - shadow1515 • 16h Why did the Death Star have a trash compactor rather than just jettisoning waste into space? Edit: fair point about not wanting trash to orbit you. But then on a space station that can literally blow up a planet, why don't they have the tech to just incinerate or vaporize it? Reply 1 71 3 ...

Text - CoolLordL21 • 18h Watching StarTrek Voyager, and there's a recurring one that bugs me. Species 8472 is the Borg designation to the newly discovered alien race from fluidic space. However, someone from Voyager will be talking with another alien species they've just encountered, and they'll offhandedly mention "Species 8472" and not once does one of these aliens say, "Who the fuck is Species 8472?" Text - misterhamster118 · 20h Any movie/book where magic is involved and they have to hide it from humans because humans can't handle magic I gues...? I mean if you really think about it, a lot of these stories don't really have a solid argument for keeping magic a secret except to set the story in the 'real world' # Q Reply 225 ...

Text - Chenstrap • 17h Interstellar When they first arrive to the new star/black hole system, their plan to visit the first planet thats getting fucked by time dilation is completely ludicrous. Let's assume everything goes well, it prolly takes what, an hour to find the scientists landing site, wake them, and get briefed on the planet? thats if everything goes well. That is at minimum 7 years burned. Any little 10 or 15 minute delay adds like 2-3 years onto their time on planet. For that reason

Text - cerrita • 14h Twilight. I'm not saying I've read the whole series or watched all the movies (seeing it with Rifftrax is the only way), and certainly don't enjoy it, but there's one plot hole that just sets me off whenever I think about it. So, in the first movie, Edward is pretending to be a 17 year old kid, despite being around 120, and makes mention that they have to move around a lot because of the non-aging situation. Fine, whatever. In movie 2, Edward and family are shipping out and

Text - RedditAmdminsRGay • 17h Not the biggest but this one really bothered me recently: Sirius: Here Harry, we can use this to communicate while you're at Hogwarts. Harry: Literally breaks into Umbridge's office twice to call Sirius which ultimately leads to Sirius' death. He blames himself for a bunch of shit about being responsible for Sirius' death, but never for completely ignoring the Christmas gift that would have made them both very happy to use. Text - Dusty_Lux520· 20h Időfutár – a Hungarian book series, story takes place in Hungary, people are Hungarian, they all speak Hungarian, the first book is totally fine. THEN in the (iirc) 2nd book or so they travel in time and end up in the ancient Rome. They stay there for quite a while and they talk and interact with the citizens every ducking day and they understand each other. Only one question. How?? Considering we don't usually speak Latin, Romans are not famous for their perfect English

Text - DogsandCatsWorld1000 · 22h Die Hard 2. So they couldn't land at Dulles Airport in Washington Dc. Why not just use Baltimore/ Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport which is only 57 miles away, instead of risking crashing when the fuel runs out. I'm sure in an emergency, Andrews Air Force Base would have allowed the planes to land. Yes I know the problem is they had to move filming from Denver due to lack of snow, but it still created a plot hole in the movie. Reply 7 172 ...

Text - NoKenjataimu • 19h The Time Heist in Avengers: Endgame was completely unnecessary. All they needed to do was find the Space and Time Stones. No splitting up, no going to four different planets, no wasting resources tracking down Pym Particles... just send the entire squad to New York City, 2012, one trip, grab the two Stones that will allow you to go anywhere in the universe at any time to retrieve the other four Stones... fucking done. Text - JSanzi • 21h In "Raiders of the Lost Ark", a deleted scene is the ONLY source of information as to how Indy figured that keeping his eyes shut would save him. Text - YankeeSR23 • 20h Back to the Future 2 When old Biff went back in time to give the almanac to his young self he altered the future from that exact moment; there's no way old Biff could've returned the Delorean back to the 2015 he left from as that timeline would no longer exist in his branched off timeline. If he went to 2015 again it would've been the 2015 from the same timeline where Biff is corrupt and married to Marty's mom. Reply 72 ...

Text - plaba281 · 14h 3 1 Award Ant-man: Early in the movie, they tell him that because his size gets smaller but his weight stays the same, he can "pack a stronger punch." Later in the movie, Dr. Pym expands a tank that he kept on a keychain. The tank obviously had to be light enough to carry around when shrunk, but had to have become heavier when required to crash out of a building. It's even more obvious when they carry/toss around an entire building Reply 1 392 ...

Text - StreetIndependence62 • 17h Rock A Doodle: the sun comes up on the one day the rooster doesn't crow, so he thinks he's useless and leaves. But then the sun doesn't come up the next day which means he really WAS in control of the sun. So...why did it rise by itself that ONE time? They NEVER explain it and it's such a big plot hole that it makes the whole rest of the movie almost unsatisfying in my opinion. Reply 26 ...

Text - biga204 · 15h Mentioned this before, but it's The Berenstain Bears. In The New Baby it says that Papa carved out the tree house. But in Moving Day, they move into an already carved tree house. According to Jan, it's because Papa hollowed out more of the tree. I don't buy it. Reply 1 19 ...

Text - Satures · 22h "Die Judenbuche", a book we had to read at school was so full of plot holes that you had simply no idea what was going on. Or as Wikipedia says: The book is full of implications and red herrings while there is no definitive answer as to what actually happened. It's not like a plot hole. It's like so many things are important one moment, forgotten next moment and completely casually referred to again 20 years later without any connection. Like at the ending of the book one of
