Text - coolidge_fan • 18h 1 Award In 1990, I had the pleasure of escorting a group of exchange students from the Russian boondocks to a 24 hour Walmart Supercenter the size of an airplane hanger. One cheekily said: Just like Russia: everything's made in China, and if you really want it, it's out of stock. Reply 5.9k ...

Text - FizzyBeverage • 18h Every product generally under $300 (most under $5) you can physically lift that you've ever imagined made in China, plus a grocery/toy/McDonalds/hardware/ garden/electronics/craft/sports/jewelry/clothing shop, in a store the size of Liechtenstein. Reply 6.0k

Text - Priamosish • 17h I've been to Walmart, as a European, and I live to tell the tale. They sell GUNS. In a supermarket! Also that was in a small town and the store was still HUGE. Like absolutely giant. Basically a small mall on its own. I've never seen such a supermarket in Europe. edit: upstate NY Reply 3.7k ...

Text - spaghatta111 • 16h You ever just want to spend an afternoon cruising around on a scooter, drinking a 64oz container of Mountain Dew, just perusing a bunch of deals? Reply 611 ...

Text - ReallyLongElbows • 18h Cheap supermarket with better selection of random shit and sell guns. May have a fast food chain inside Reply 360

Text - ACorania • 18h 1 Award Its meant to be a one stop shopping center with food, clothing, electronics, etc. Since it is a HUGE company they have been able to really drive down prices. The low prices mean it tends to attract people of lower socio-economic classes than we see in similar stores. Because humans are really judgemental, we really look down on those less fortunate than ourselves and mock how dumb the people of Walmart are. Reply 719 ...

Text - fluxy2535 • 18h you know how if you want several different types of things you need to like... go to ikea for a lamp, and then mediamarkt for a video game, then Rewe for rice for the recipe you're making for dinner, then Rossman for your prescription and some handsoap? Here you just go to Walmart. Reply 136 ...

Groceries, underwear, cigs, beer, dog food, car battery, new fishing rod and a ps4 game at lam? No problem. Oh, u can also grab a whole roasted chicken to go for a snack. Reply ...

Text - deathtotheemperor • 17h 1 Award You guys, Europe also has big box stores and suburbs and trashy illiterate people and dead-end small towns and towering monuments to mass consumerism with parking lots the size of artillery ranges, and all the other things that Walmart represents. Walmart is not some bizarre space alien concept. Smh, Americans have absolutely no idea what Europe is actually like. Reply 197 ...

Text - OPs_other_username • 17h So imagine all those small shops that specialize in different wares and services, from clothing to electronics, from jewelry to guns. Now gather them all in one place. Then turn on the compactor switch. then crush them, grind them, mangle them and their dreams and then, while they are still breathing their last breath pour a giant concrete slab over them Then buy generic forms of their products from oversea sweatshops and sell it. Viola, it's a Walmart. Reply 1 1.

Text - D34thbySnooSnoo • 16h Your one stop shop for budget prices and services that are "good enough" but not something you should expect top notch quality from. This includes optometry services, general maintenance for car/tire services, pharmaceutical, hair cuts, guns/hunting supplies, electronics/gaming gear, clothing, banking, etc. You can find everything there pretty much, including As Seen on TV products and even certain things like limited edition Funko's and other collectibles that are c

In half the country, you'll have to go somewhere else for the rifle. Reply ...

Text - hurricane_eggbeater • 12h I took a few of my European coworkers to Walmart once, and I felt like the cereal aisle was really the best summary of Walmart as a whole. The ability to choose between forty different types of slightly different cereals, all of which are owned by two different megacorporations, is just so quintessentially Walmart. Reply 5

Text - cosmonaut205 • 14h They've basically replaced town squares because the prices are impossible to beat. And it's as American as it gets: made in China, one stop shopping where you buy guns, fill prescriptions, and basically get anything you need. It's also an enterprise that basically destroyed the American middle class and now preys on its corpse. It's the biggest employer in America and doesn't usually pay a livable wage. Reply 5
