Dating is a game, and if you're not playing then you're being played; that is the sort of sentence you'll hear a lot of people say nowadays, and for good reason. While technology has without a doubt helped improve our quality of life, it has also come as a detriment to others, such as modern dating. For example, the fact you have so many options may seem cool the first time you open an app, but you later come to realize that you were just wearing rose-colored glasses, blinded by the empty promises of Tinder. All these options are half the reason you are single. Whether it's because of your own FOMO, or somebody else's. The options are an illusion… the pesky algorithm sure sees to that.
