Jean-Luc Picard said "It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life". And that quote is completely not applicable here because these people straight up did it wrong. Sure, it's possible to still screw up when you do things right. But when you do things wrong? That makes your own failure almost a statistical certainty.
We've all done things the wrong way from time-to-time. It's usually a product of having neither the time, tools, nor experience to do something correctly. But sometimes we just mess things up because we don't care about doing them right. Sure that's fine for small moments in your life like putting an Ikea table together. But when it comes to painting lines in the road or offering retinal exams? Then it's time to focus and not succumb to "not my job" moments.
So congrats everyone, and shame on us all.
