These movies have been around for almost 20 years, but like the proverbial eye of Sauron, they just keep finding us no matter how hard we try to stay away. And no, we don't try to stay away from Lord of The Rings memes, but they just have a habit of making their way into our lives. We get constant flashbacks to Denethor eating that cherry tomato, that one orc with the torch that blows up in the Helm's Deep sewer, and during lulls in the day our internal monologue just goes "AND MY AXE." No birthday, baby shower, Christmas or Friday is complete without a viewing of the extended edition.
This preoccupation with Lord of The Rings moments would be a problem if it were almost any other franchise, but hey we're here to enjoy the time we have, and any time spent watching Sam and Frodo onscreen is impossible to consider wasted time. Okay, The Hobbit movies might be not as completely perfect, but they're fine to throw on during an airplane ride or something.
