Million Dollar Amusement Park Wants Free Work

Yay, another fine example of delusional entitlement. This time we've got a million dollar amusement park that puts out a call to action for artists to contribute their mask designs, and enter for a chance to "win" having their designs being used. So, basically put all that time and energy in to create a cool mask design, and have it stolen for mass distribution while the very folks stealing it from you are "rewarding" you with "exposure." They value the artists, just not enough to pay them.

Check out more entitled people and their preposterous demands over here.

Text - Lagoon Amusement Park so basically you're taking peoples ideas and making money off of it? That's what l'm hearing. They don't get any kind of compensation, really? 13 1h Like Reply

Text - * Author Lagoon Amusement Park Logeon it is an artwork contest... for fun. 16 1h Like Reply Lagoon Amusement Park I feel like this would go over a lot better if you even offer a season pass for the winner or something. I imagine you will make more than $150 in profit off these masks, and decent artists don't usually just work for other people for "fun". 14 1h Like Reply

Text - I understand it's a contest. I like the idea, it's a fun concept. But it's very wrong to sell something and make a ton of money off of someone's design without giving them somethina from it The issue is contests like this are part of our culture that under values artists. I would love it if kids knew they could

Text - enter an art contest and receive something in return. It's teaching them the value of hard work, and ends the mentality of asking people to work for free. It's not my promotion but tbh Lagoon Amusement Park I would correct this before it goes viral, and looks bad on your part. 52m Like Reply
