‘I found a way to get paid 50% while doing nothing': New boss revokes trucker's ‘home daily’ rights, demands employees confirm trucking loads, cue malicious compliance

Managers obviously play a crucial role in ensuring that employees are happy to come to work. Unfortunately, not all managers got the memo, nor do they possess the necessary skills, let alone temperament to be successful in their roles. One such example is of a manager who sporadically decided to revoke his employees' 'home daily' rights, resulting in some pretty unhappy workers. Not only that, but the manager also demanded that these employees begin confirming their loads, even though it was genuinely not necessary. All that did was waste their time.

So what did the employees do? Well, it wasn't in their personalities to be pushovers, so they decided to comply maliciously. The manager wanted to micromanage them? Then micromanage them, he shall. Met with resistance, the manager got madder and madder. But because he had told the employees they needed to confirm their loads, or not work at all, there wasn't much he could do.

Why do new bosses always want to change the original job description? Beats us, but somehow it always ends in disaster. For the full, detailed account of events, scroll down. For more stories like this, here is a worker who also decided that malicious compliance was the way after his boss decided to make his life way harder than it needed to be.
