Tragic Passing of Baby's Father Causes Controlling Brother-In-Law to Try to Takeover

Some situations are so incredibly unfortunate that it's hard even to fathom what these people must be going through. This is one of those stories.

The poster describes that she is eight months pregnant and that her husband tragically passed away during the pregnancy. She has turned to his family for support, but her late husband's brother (her brother-in-law) has started trying to be controlling and acting like he is the father of the child or has an equivalent stake of some sort in the situation.

Overall, her in-laws, in general, seem to be trying to ensure that they have some control over this child's future now that the parent they're related to by blood is deceased. You can kind of feel for them and see where they are coming from, but at the same time, their actions and behavior must be terrifying for this mother-to-be.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AITA (Am I the A--Hole) subreddit by the mother who is wondering if she is wrong to tell her brother-in-law to take a step back.

Commenters resoundingly agreed that she was well within her rights and cautioned her to be careful with her late husband's family.
