Every once in a while, we learn about off-the-wall forgotten elements to famous stories, and we don't really know where to place them. For example, there's a very real part of the original Forrest Gump (the book) wherein Forrest travels to space with a talking chimp. Who knows why this part would ever have not been included in an otherwise touching blockbuster period drama starring Tom Hanks, but all we can say is the movie is probably worse for it.
Anyway, it turns out there's a canonical sequel to 101 Dalmatians written by Dodie Smith, the author of the original book. Needless to say, it's a bit of a departure from the Disney version. It's got dog superpowers, it's got cataclysm, it's got dog-aliens. So that's cool? It's honestly a little bit like The Last Stand, but with adorable dogs? Anyway, sketchesbyboze explained the premise in a very weird Twitter thread.
