So this lady's been dating an American guy for a few months, and he decides to test out his terrific, brand new way to get the attention of waitstaff at a restaurant. That idea? Bringing a little tiny bell to ring every time he wants attention. Upon scrutiny, he reassures her that no, having a little bell to ring at your server is completely normal in the U.S. and is totally fine.
If any Americans want to chime in and corroborate this absolutely stupid method, then by all means go for it so the rest of us can call you an obnoxious jackass just like this guy. No one brings little bells to try and train the waitstaff like you are Pavlov trying to get your dogs to bring you free bread. What a dork.
Of course basically everyone gets why this behavior isn't standard, but we all know some folks who truly wish it would be this way, and we regret that some of them make it out of the country or really, even out of their house. This might be even more demeaning than having a customer snap for your attention. Here are some obnoxious things done by American tourists.
