For much of the world, Canadian identity has been boiled down to a few stereotypes about politeness, hockey, beavers and syrup. And there's definitely a lot of it up there. But just chalking up an entire nation to those few things is wildly unfair. They also have a lot of snow, moose, Tim Hortons and contrary to the whole politeness cliché, some of them are mean. Hopefully this has broadened the scope on what it means to be Canadian.
