It wouldn't occur to most of us to get back at our snooping in-laws by making up a story about a curse. Most of us would just say "don't steal my things lady" or change the locks. But that fact that she believed it, and that something bad actually happened is absolutely excellent. Gotta love it when fake curses come through in your favor.
