My condolences to this gentleman. No one should have to suffer a significant other who just completely refuses to learn basic household skills. It would be one thing here if she made any sort of effort what-so-ever to make (or learn how to make) a decent meal. It's another thing to be an eternal tornado of despair every time you enter the kitchen. Good on this guy for finally having enough and just putting an end to it. I would say that he made the right call.
