As times change, and the temptation to look at old media with a modern lense grows, it's important to remember the actual context those books and movies were created in, and what they were used for. The thing is 40 years old. In the same vein, we'd all still like to continue enjoying Blazing Saddles. Also, there's no question why this person would get steamrolled for trying to diminish anything the great Tim Curry was involved in. With that said, sometimes looking at old stuff with a modern sensibility can be pretty funny, like this Twitter thread about a woman who found this annotated Bukowski filled with comedy gold.
