HOAs, which stands for Home Owner's Associations, are groups of elected individuals who make rules to keep a neighborhood looking its best. However, these can quickly get out of hand. Instead of making common sense rules or helping people in need, HOAs seem to basically exist to make a home owner's life a living nightmare. Once you see the fines accumulated for the most basic things, you'll understand how it can quickly consume all your funds. One person showed hundreds of dollars in late fees and "association assessment" fees, all accumulated over just a few months!
One person shared that they were targeted for literally just parking in front of their own house for too long. Who knew 2 days was the longest one could park outside their own garage? No one is benefitting from these HOA decrees. The only way to stop HOAs is to raise awareness about the utter nightmare that can occur when you move into a neighborhood with a demanding association.
