Dating app convos tend to go one of two ways; either people put in little to no effort, begging the question 'Why did you swipe in the first place?', OR people put in a little too much effort… AKA, take everything personally, overcommit, and emotionally involve themselves before they've even met you. The first type of conversation stated is a one-sided conversation, the classic one-word response. But the second is the exact opposite. These conversations will look more like, 'It's been five minutes, why haven't you replied? I'm blocking you. But I'm waiting for you to reply. But then I'll block you. For sure, yeah, I'm blocking you'.
Dating in the modern world is tough. Between getting ghosted, blocked (and perhaps unblocked?), left on read which is kinda ghosted but really, not getting matches at all, getting stood up or canceled on last minute… it's a graveyard out here for us single folk. Quite literally. But Tinder knows how to make money, how to reel you back in, just when you've 'given up all hope'. Plus, at least you've got a lot of good stories to share with your friends, and it does motivate people to work on their relationships to avoid getting back on dating apps.
