This Thanksgiving, one thing is certain: there will be Dad Jokes. The presence of Dad Jokes has become about as commonplace during my family's Thanksgiving gatherings as turkey and stuffing and sweet potatoes. I don't make the rules, but that's just reality at this point. When confronted with Dad Jokes at the dinner table, you have one of two options in terms of how you choose to respond: (1) you can show your embarrassment, cower, and cry like a 5-year-old even though you're in you are a fully grown adult, or (2) you can humor your Dad and say something mildly kind like "that was clever." This Thanksgiving, we suggest you opt for the latter option. Give your father a break and make him feel like the funniest person in the room every once in a while.
