Home remodeling is hard. It's physical, it's expensive, and it's tedious. Not only that, but home remodeling and handiwork is just downright HARD. That's why most people hire professionals to get the job done for them. At least, most regular people really should be hiring people who are professionals and know what they're doing.
That's not always the case though.
In fact, a disturbingly high number of people, usually people who can't afford expensive labor, attempt to try to do things on their own because… How hard could it be right? And boy, do those people learn the hard way and sometimes pay the price.
Aesthetically, an amateur remodel is pretty obvious. Lines aren't perfect, top coats are weird, placement is odd, and sometimes it just feels off. But what about the really, truly terrible self-remodels? The ones that nobody talks about because they're so cringey and painful to look at? Well, here are a few of the most terrible, eye-twitching home remodels done by amateurs.
