Man Rummages Through Coworker's Purse, She Files a Report Against Him

Does he really expect us to believe he needed a phone charger that badly? People really do come up with the lamest excuses. This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/Serious-Court3252, who shared her story about a nosy coworker who took things way too far.

It all starts innocently. He asks to borrow a phone charger. Then, he asks again and again and again, and it becomes a thing. You help out because you don't want to create any bad blood, and you don't mind being helpful. But the truth is this is just a more adult version of when you would lend out your pencils to other classmates in high school. Not only is it unlikely that you'll get those pencils back, but also it creates a power dynamic.

Here's where it gets creepy. The Redditor went away from her desk to use the bathroom and returned, only to find her male coworker rummaging through her purse. When she called him out, he claimed he was simply looking for her charger and assumed it was ok because she always lends it to him.

Of course, filing a formal complaint to the company's headquarters created some drama in the office. Another female coworker thinks the Redditor took things too far, but we would just like to point out how messed up that logic is. Things went too far when her male coworker decided it was ok to search through a woman's purse without her permission. That was the only real line that was crossed here. Next time, this other coworker can lend her charger to the thief, and we'll see what happens.
