Life seems to simple when you're in high school. The man is always on your back, but you know the truth. You're gonna do things differently. If only people understood how unique and complex your emotions are. "No one can tell me what to do, I'm going to be a force for good in the world." And then 20 years later you wake up early so you can get your good boots on, because it's your time to shine at the lead poisoning factory.
"Maybe we should make something other than lead poisoning," you think to yourself, removing the needle from an apple before slapping an "organic" sticker over the hole.
"Quit being an idealist," says your coworker, before pursing his lips to blow lead shavings into a pile of Spiderman underwear.
Maybe it's not what you wanted to do, but at the end of the day you have to admit that at least it's less evil than working for a bank.
