This teacher must be teaching a class in petty pro-revenge. Everything about the way that he approaches this situation just screams of a wounded ego. At no point in this story does it sound like he is trying to do the right thing, he is out to right the wrongs that he perceives have been done against him.
That's what makes this whole scenario a little bit petty. He should have just reported it to the department and let the consequences of their actions take their course. But his approach certainly does have more style.
