In the food industry, it's important to take allergies seriously. Knowing this, some really crappy customers out there will try and use this information and lie in order to scare staff into comping their meals or pay more attention to them in general. Often these customers double back on their own claims and prove to everyone that they're being dumb, like this Karen who explained that she was lactose intolerant and asked for cream instead.
