Our jobs are challenging enough without a manager publicly shaming us for saying "hi boss" too happily. The things these people's managers got angry about are extremely arbitrary, unpredictable, and frequently hypocritical. We can only hope that they found better places to work soon after. These sound a whole lot like the reasons these people quit their jobs on the spot.
