It seems like the situational awareness might be lacking a bit for dad here. More often than not you'd think that any parent would want to provide their full support for any kids they have that might need to make a necessary getaway from a situation that made them unsettled. It sounds like the daughter in this scenario was around some people that were making her uncomfortable, but dad didn't think that that warranted a free Uber ride. Let's just say his chosen stance ended up landing him in some hot water. Who knows though? Maybe it was an astronomically expensive ride, and money's tight around the house. The fact that the mom reacted like she did though would hint that dad was acting a bit out of line.
