We do some mindless stuff in the name of love, or even, an innocent crush. There's just something that short circuits in the brain when you find yourself helplessly infatuated with that person that caught your eye. Then, if you're really unlucky, you take it a step further and make the kind of move that comes back to haunt you in the middle of the night, years later.
