Tending a bar is playing the part of witness to a whole lotta liquid courage meets fly 'n die after a botched pick-up line. Hell, I've seen my fair share, just as I've playfully tested a few myself. If you approach the douche-tainted social situation for what it is, and have some self-aware fun with whatever could compel a person to bust out a pick-up line in the first place: you might just find it works better than you could've hoped for. Or at the very least, breaks the ice.
